I was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. My Métis great great grandparents Jean Caron Sr. and Pierre Parenteau Sr. were among the founding families of Batoche, Saskatchewan and fought with Louis Riel and Gabriel Dumont in the North-West Resistance of 1885. My father was the first in eight generations of Métis ancestors to marry “white.”. I now live in Toronto. My historical novel set during the North-West Resistance will be published September 2017 (Ronsdale Press).
