mainely portland

Portland, maine, NOT oregon. Wednesday, December 03, 2014. Been a busy month and I've had not much time to take many photos, but here's what I have. Byron is such a lightweight when it comes to bedtime. Asleep by 9 on a Saturday night. When he sleeps he still looks like the baby of six years ago! Ten inches of snow on the first real storm of the year, the day before Thanksgiving. And that snow necessitates the need for a trainer to ride indoors! Wednesday, December 03, 2014. 103 and 77 Months!

Portland, maine, NOT oregon. Sunday, September 21, 2014. 74 and 100 Months! I simply love Byron's crazed smile here. and to think that I almost deleted this one! Sunday, September 21, 2014. First Day Of School. First and third grades! Sunday, September 21, 2014. I believe that this was blueberry mouth. or some other bluish purple stain. Outside chair through screen study. I think that this was a Striped German tomato. Walter just standing around playing with his Nintendo. The "magic" flan cake.

Portland, maine, NOT oregon. Saturday, May 31, 2014. Peter and Peg's Wedding, Big Indian, NY Day One- May 9. An early start to the day as we were driving the scenic way on Friday. On our way at a favorite rest stop alongside the road near Keene, New Hampshire. In the Northern Lights Lodge at the Full Moon Resort. Walter had been sketching in his notebook. The evening BBQ was held indoors at an old restored barn. Beautiful timberwork! Making faces with Peg! The bride to be, Peg and Byron. 70 and 96 Months!

Portland, maine, NOT oregon. Sunday, October 12, 2014. Wrestling At The High School. There was the egotistical egomaniac coward being led by a self serving interfering manager with dubious facial hair and fashion sense, there were the tough guys who wore fluorescent colored Wayfarers a la the Hart Foundation of the 80's, there was the hero/ face who went after the guy who was a coward who hid behind the crowd (yes, he climbed up into the stands with the audience. even stepped on Walter's jacket!

Portland, maine, NOT oregon. Saturday, August 30, 2014. Miscellaneous Stuff From June. Realized that there was alot of random stuff that I shot in June. First off, Byron's new foam visor and play glasses. I think that he looks like an old man at a beach in Florida. The heat makes you do some funny things! Saturday, August 30, 2014. Specifically 'Salad Rose' radishes, good for slicing in salads. didn't get too many this year, but they were pretty good. Next year I'll grow standard radishes.

Hello, Sailor!: Summer, In Short

http://www.mzlibrarian.com/2011/08/summer-in-short.html

Summer, In Short. Long time, no anything, huh? We had some weather and I haven't been able to manage communication. It's just not in me. I want to say all sorts of evil things about wind and houses and neighborhoods and insurance companies. Yes. Insurance companies. So, I'm going to gloss-over the whole tornado thing and focus on the awesomeness that happened this summer. We went to the McWane Science Center. It was loaded with children. Loaded. We still had a good time. We stopped by Mohican State Park.

Hello, Sailor!: October 2010

http://www.mzlibrarian.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Making it About Me. Excuse me while I self-indulge for a moment. I do not remember every student I've ever taught. I am not the teacher or librarian with the didactic memory. To be honest, half of my job as a librarian is to forget most of what I'm asked. I am a source for information, not a source for editorializing. And if my patrons thought I was remembering them or their queries, they'd quit asking me. I'm still writing the little brother weekly, and it's still taking pretty much everything I have to...

Hello, Sailor!: February 2011

http://www.mzlibrarian.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

This space is a recent discovery for me. And you have to walk through a swamp created by oxbow lakes to get there. It's perfect - isolated with my southern swampy water and my northern running water. It's a place that I feel at home with all of my own conflicting geographies. Best Mac and Cheese Ever. 3 tablespoons dry breadcrumbs. 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil. 1 16-ounce package of frozen spinach, thawed and patted dry. 1 3/4 cups milk, divided (1 1/2 cups, 1/4 cup). 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded.

Breadman: March 2010

http://jim-breadman.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 1, 2010. I have a bunch of glazing to do this week and I think I am seeing results. Trying colored slips on wet clay and some bisque fired colors on bisque. Packing for Vacation 2 weeks of photos and fun. I just wish I could find a place to throw a pot while I am away. We went and had a look at Watershed last Friday and I may try for the volunteer session in May/June. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Windham, New Hampshire, United States. View my complete profile.
