Replacing Diesel Fuel Tanks in a Mainship, Removal & Installation

For a drawing of the tanks, the new ones were the same dimensions as the old. First reaction was that I needed this like an empty beer can given all we were up against. But, the more we reflected on it the more the realization came that the tanks were just about 30 years old and if there was ever a time to pull them this was it. Removal and Repairs of a Sliding Door on a Mainship 34 Type I

There is a bulk head running a mid ship right in front of the door, but the door was not attached to this in any way. It had what was basically a two by four running across the boat with no bracing. I did notice through the years that their was some bounce to the floor there. Heres a picture of the rot, caused by the leaking scuppers, this is the starboard side. You can also see the bulkhead, and a 2 x 4, but the thing to note is that 2 x 4 is not attached to the bulk head in any way. Heres the port side.

Constructing the Exhuast System. At first I thought I would use a “surge tube” to protect against any water backing up into the engine but the one I got would not line up no matter what I did. This is the surge tube. So, I decided on a check valve. This will mean the system would be; Engine, hose, muffler, hose, check valve, hose, exhaust flange. Perkins 160 HP T6.354 Parts. All parts have been sold! Here are some Perkins Parts that I am selling for a Perkins 160 T6.354. Serial Number; 354UX397564TL. These parts were pulled off the engine October of 2006. The engine had some sort of failure, probably a rod or the crank. It did not suffer water intrusion into the cylinders. I have made the best guess I can on the prices, but if you see something your interested in but feel the price is off, feel free to make an offer.
