Mayana is a small village on the banks of the Okavango river in the very north of Namibia. Made up of former Angolan refugees and native Namibians, the community faces the challenges of poverty, HIV and unemployment. In Mayana we have developed projects in the areas of education, sports and games, crafts, and construction. Swakopmund is a small urban setting in Namibia comprising people from all over Namibia.

Make Change Possible e.V.: History/How it started. At the time H.I.S. established the IB Diploma. Course, she began to envision a possible connection between CAS. Students at H.I.S. The H.I.S. school administration voiced interest in developing such a sustainable international project. The six-week exploratory project between a student, a teacher, and an African village became the foundation of the organization now known as MCP. A student and a teacher pioneered the project together. Student at Heidelberg International School since 2007. He was part of the first cohort of IB diploma students and graduated at H.I.S. in 2011. Teacher at Heidelberg International School, H.I.S. since 2000. She gained many years of teaching experience in the field of curative education and social therapy prior to that. Her connection to Africa began in the 1980’s where she worked for seven years in South Africa and Botswana.
