Livin' the Dream: July 2014
http://betty-the-blogger.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Guilin and the Li River. Because of flight delays leaving Shenzhen, it was nearly 2 am by the time we got to our hotel - The Lijiang Waterfall Hotel - in Guilin. Fortunately, they let us sleep in a bit and not have to start too early the next morning. A corner of our room at the Waterfall Hotel. View of the street below our hotel room window. In China, Guilin is considered very small, with a population of only 700,000. Our guide was Tao, and his English was excellent! One woman on our tour was traveling ...

Life's Peaceful Moments: July 2012
http://lifespeacefulmoments.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. Now the problem has been that this room was not only filled with bins with yardage and crafts supplies on the shelves, but it also had boxes and boxes of "Stuff" all piled on the floor and all around. This room also has my computer station in it, so to me it is MY ROOM. it should be my sanctuary, but instead it's was FRUSTRATION. And then I would just walk out and shut the door! For the next few weeks I kept on working, and little by little things began to take shape. Last Sunday a...

Livin' the Dream: June 2013
http://betty-the-blogger.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Yesterday, I finally put Ryann's quilt in the mail! After months and months of stops and starts, of delays and interruptions (including having to pack away all of my sewing area to stage the house to sell) it is finally complete. I'm so happy with how it turned out and I hope she'll love it. Hours I spent making it = 66. Cost of the materials = $191.93. Love in every stitch = immeasurable! I had to stitch the first part of the binding at the dining room table. Since so much is packed away. We found a hou...

Life's Peaceful Moments: Home Sweet Home
http://lifespeacefulmoments.blogspot.com/2013/06/home-sweet-home.html
Tuesday, June 11, 2013. There's no place like home. I've been home now for a week since we went to Arizona to help our youngest daughter Ann and her husband Kim, with their fixer upper home project. He and Ann have been working hard on this home project, but it all takes time and time is one thing that they are running low on, so Mom and Dad went to help. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Anderson Family: Dallin still loves football!
http://andersonmk.blogspot.com/2011/09/dallin-still-loves-football.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. Dallin still loves football! Despite my best efforts to deter Dallin's love of football, nothing is working! Not the fact that he is the smallest kid on his team, and probably the league; not the fact that his team has not won any games; nothing! He has had the best coaches this year despite their losing record. And yes, the guy in blue who is a state trooper, is wearing a fanny pack. We always start out the play with so much hope. Livin' the Dream: December 2013
http://betty-the-blogger.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
For the first time in several years, we had all of our children and most of our grandchildren together for Thanksgiving. It was great! We actually couldn't all be together on Thanksgiving day, so we enjoyed dinner with our son, Bob, daughters, Laura and Susy, and their families plus Laura's in-laws. Then, on Friday night, we had pie (More than we could eat! The Saturday after T-day, Alice and Penny (Laura's twins) turned three, so, we also had cake with our pie — to celebrate. Mom died on Oct 25 and the ...

The Anderson Family: January 2012
http://andersonmk.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. It will be Dallin's turn for a party next year. We had a wonderfully long drive and too quick visit to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. After the screaming on the ride down we, Michael and I, decided we might not be doing it again until the child who wouldn't stop screaming was old enough to enjoy 11 hours of movies like the other children! It was great to visit with family and it's always sad to come home and realize how far away we are. Yes, that is a turkey leg!
