Making music with kids

Making music with kids. Monday, July 31, 2017. I am the very model of a modern urban animal-for @NatickBobcat (and a few other tweeps! I am the very model of a modern urban animal. I survive in human realms both virtual and actual. My small size lets me creep in spaces that the humans have not found. And my bobbed tail is perfect because it doesn’t hang down on the ground. I’m well content with urban prey, on rabbits, pigeons, rats I thrive. But usually I leave the domestic cats and dogs alive. Just igno...

Making music with kids: December 2014

http://makingmusicwithkids.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Making music with kids. Monday, December 8, 2014. Eaten Alive-The snakes get their say. I decided the snakes needed their say, too. And, since I'm a music teacher, of course, we have singing snakes. Too bad I can't draw-I have this mental picture of caroling snakes, all wearing Santa hats, in front of the doors of the Discovery Channel studios. The snake chorus responds to “Eaten Alive” (To the tune of Jingle Bells). You see me lying here. You see I am a snake. You feel a lot of fear. Mice and insects too.

She shared her blog link, although her blog is about half snakes and about half neopets fan writings, and they started discussing reciprocal links, plug ins, and twitter feeds. Definitely heading down that rabbit hole, Alice!

Meeting at and crossing at the midline is an important skill. Zig-zag blocks aren't my favorite instrument sound-wide, but are a great instrument for toddlers (These are included in the Wiggle...4) So...

http://makingmusicwithkids.blogspot.com/2012/07/getting-teachers-on-your-side-finding.html

Making music with kids. Monday, July 16, 2012. Getting teachers on your side-finding the right fit for gifted young children:. This post is part of the Parenting the Gifted Blog tour. 1) Do your research. The fact is that giftedness isn't easy to deal with as a parent OR as a teacher. It's so easy, as a parent, to hear that a friend's child is having a great time in Kindermusik and comes home tired and takes a good nap and it's heavenly and think "Oh, I could use that! 2) Try it out-. The result of that ...
