The Urge To Preserve - Musings of a life long learner: Hazards of Citrus in Zone 9a
http://www.theurgetopreserve.com/2012/09/hazards-of-citrus-in-zone-9a.html
Saturday, September 15, 2012. Hazards of Citrus in Zone 9a. Here begins my tale of woe. Last winter I noticed that one of the kumquats started to look all wilty and sad. And, very sad it was due to an infestation of a nasty bug that loves citrus! After an internet search and much digging I discovered that the nasty bug had a name, Cottony Cushion Scale, scientific name Icerya purchasi. From the University of California Intregreted Pest Management (UCIPM) website I learned:. Gross but apparently effective!

Unleashing my inner farmgirl- she is changing my life (for the better)! My Favorite Things – Light of Day Organic Tea. August 7, 2015. We all have those things that are our favorites. I was introduced to Light of Day Organics tea. About 2 years ago while on vacation. I was hooked! I have ordered it via the web ever since. I am not a coffee drinker but I do consider myself a tea snob. I love good tea and will seek it out and pay for it. This is one of my favorites. The gardens are beautiful and inviting.

Unleashing my inner farmgirl- she is changing my life (for the better)! Tag Archives: fall planting. July 31, 2015. I shared with you how we were converting one of our gardens to using ag cloth as a weed barrier. We got stopped in the middle of our process because of travel and rain-lots of rain. We hit our field again over the last 10 days to rescue what we could, say goodbye to what we couldn’t and plant for the future. A gardener is always optimistic. Grass was up to my knees in the garden. So with th...

The Urge To Preserve - Musings of a life long learner: Quite . . .
http://www.theurgetopreserve.com/2013/04/quite.html
Monday, April 22, 2013. Quite . . . I found some quite clever aprons on Pinterest. Not a surprise, I'm sure. Quite Clever Pinterest Apron - Redoux of a man's shirt. I was quite captivated with the concept and wanted to make one - which turned into "some". So, off to the thrift store(s) I went to purchase the necessary materials - men's shirts. After a couple of trips to my favorite haunts, I had quite a few in different colors. Which makes me quite happy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 2012-2013 The...
