BS4466: 1989 Shape Codes. Plastic Spacers are made for specific applications to hold reinforcing steel in place. Styrofix plastic spacers are specifically designed to hold up mesh in floor slabs, they have a round flat base so as not to punchure DPM and a plastic clip on the top to hold on to the mesh. They have proved very popular and are now our biggest selling spacer by far. Contractors are also using these spacers on the bottom and side of ground beams as they have found it such a versatile spacer.
