Monday Makes
http://www.mamapeaches.com/2014/06/16/monday-makes
I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day weekend! Ours was pretty packed but full of good fun family activities. Despite my best intentions, I haven’t been as good about updating Mama Peaches, but it’s not because I haven’t been making! I’ve got my sewing mojo back and I’ve been sewing almost every night. I forget how relaxing it can be. Anyway, I wanted to share a few of my completed projects. First up, my version of Green Bee’s Ship Shape Tote. I was inspired by a version. I saw at Bolt Fabric. Next is...

For the love of craft. All posts in Museums. 8220;‘Workt by Hand’: Hidden Labor and Historical Quilts” at the Brooklyn Museum. September 12, 2013. This is the last weekend to see the quilt exhibit ’Workt by Hand’: Hidden Labor and Historical Quilts” at the Brooklyn Museum, and I highly recommend it. For the love of craft. Artist to Watch: Quilter Sarah Nishiura. September 10, 2013. Late last year, I wrote an article for Martha Stewart Living about Sarah Nishiura. Who taught me how to quilt. Craft is a way to make something out of nothing, and a way to reinvent the humble as something important, sustaining and beautiful, she writes in her artist statement. The Martha Stewart Living article is below. Artist to Wat...
