Sunday, July 31, 2011. So I am in touch with a few of you, but some of you I am WAY out of touch with! When they returned I still was not feeling well so we decided it would be best if they went out with my friend Eric and his girlfriend who was visiting as well. Then later we all went out for some yummy seafood! It was really fun! Immediately we started seeing elephants, giraffes and zebras. Only an hour in to the safari we saw lions! It was really great. It was a hit in the vill! The next day was marke...

Anna in Tanzania: February 2011
http://annaholland-peacecorps.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 27, 2011. Hope all is well! The committee for the NGO is really motivated and they are working on creating the windows and doors (right now it is just brick walls and roof with weeds growing in the middle). The goal is to have the school up and running by April! It seems a little lofty to me, however, only time will tell! Adrienne, my site mate, came to Ilembo two weeks ago on a market day, which is typically crazy! And then we talked about how visiting the hospital is more expensive tha...

Anna in Tanzania: December 2010
http://annaholland-peacecorps.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 26, 2010. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Then Christmas morning we all opened our Secret Santa presents that Santa had left under our tree (a branch of a pine tree with battery powered Christmas lights that arrived in a Christmas package). Then we all drank coffee and hot chocolate in front of the fire and one of my friends made her famous cinnamon rolls with icing. Yum! And I am really excited to visit it again. I want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

Saturday, October 22, 2011. Or volunteering as a young child? Was it the political science classes I took in college? Or inspiring Professors at Hobart who were returned Peace Corps Volunteers? Or, I really need some more charcoal for my stove. But I really need to remember that this is a crazy and wonderful experience that I will have only for a short time longer. My grants have not even been approved, my bigger projects yet to be started and I still have not successfully. With only two months left befo...

Saturday, August 28, 2010. So I just wanted to say hello! Have I mentioned it is really cold in my village! Right now it is winter so at night I have been sleeping in my sleeping bag, with a wool hat, wool socks, fleece jacket and then another blanket on top of that! During the day it is not so bad because the sun is really strong. But it is really windy! Which I enjoy, but can be a little hazardous when you are wearing a skirt! I keep telling people that it will come with time! After swearing in it was ...
