Tuesday, July 23, 2013. A Good Run and Scout Safety Skills. Start: Phoenix Farms; Trials 3 and 130 junction. July 4, 2013 - Independence Day. As part of my quest to run Trail 3 from Toivola to Copper Harbour, Michigan this summer, I had the best run of the season and learned a good lesson. Thursday, October 02, 2008. Wow kind of intense. I just tried to make some oven-baked french fry-ish sort of potatoes. Did not go so well. Perhaps it is a message from the Lord about my possibly excessive love of potatoes. I turned on the oven to preheat while I peeled and sliced potatoes. Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Adventure Mine in January '13. Kat and Kate at Adventure Mine in the winter. In the deep of last winter, Kat and I took to the Adventure Mine trails outside of Greenland, MI.This mine operated from 1850 to 1920 and is one of the best preserved mines of its age. It was opened on existing prehistoric excavations on Adventure Bluff, with the prehistoric workings dating back to about 5,000 years. The trails were untouched with soft fallen snow. Thursday, October 16, 2008. Week in review, 10/15/08 (a day late). Sorry this is a day late; things have been busy in our house this week! We had to give Elanor a bath in the kitchen sink because we were in the middle of re-painting and re-caulking the bathroom, so we couldn't use the bathtub all weekend. We dog-sat our friend Kim's dog, Fipo. He was really sweet and patient with Elanor, and she loved playing with him. Tomorrow morning, my eight-year-old nephew Zachary. OH I love the video! Saturday, January 22, 2011. Today I ran in a race. It was a negative 3 morning, the race was a short 3.2 miles down the main street of Houghton, over the bridge and back again. Straight-forward. The sun was bright and the wind was calm -no sign of a storm in the morning sky. As I ran with my friend and talked with others along the way I noticed that - although we were having.
