You can’t say that : When free speech costs too much. Does your company approve of your blog? Of all the questions I get asked, the one that readers, audience members at my presentations and even colleagues ask most frequently is a version of the above question. There seems to be an endless curiosity about how to be a person while belonging to a career. The underlying meaning to this, and what people really wonder’is how much does the company own you outside of the office? Series, and talked endlessly a...

PhotoTalk: And you will inherit this fine chair. And then she said This whole mom-housewife thing is just temporary. One of these days I am gonna make a break for it and then they laughed. One of them thinking she was kidding and the other knowing she was not. Tons more vintage humor fun here. AdTalk: And her fruitcake was racist too. Oh you gotta read the rest…. Oh you gotta read the rest…. AdTalk: Because this is how we all put our lipstick on. Oh you gotta read the rest…. Wasted. And proud. And the ta...

17 Years and counting…. I tell the story of my engagement once a year. Many of you have heard it. But since it still amazes me- I always feel it is worth re-posting. So what was it? Was it sky writing? Was it a ring in the champagne? Was it in a horse drawn carriage in Central Park? Well NO. Actually I got engaged on a dare of sorts. So the conversation went like this:. Oh yeah, and um where are you gonna live? Fine When you come next week on your business trip let’s go ring shopping.

The new old me. I woke up one day last week and decided to cut all my hair off. Yes, just like that.well not really. But practically. I loved my hair right after I did my hair. I would look in the mirror and admire its red bouncy curlsbut inevitably I would catch a glimpse of myself later in the day, or worse yet someone would take a photo or a videoand what did I see? Scraggly tossled mop. Not attractive. Not professional. In the end it was this video. http:/ youtu.be/kKNXgNehTHA. So here it is.

She sent him a pic of her dress (their homecoming is not formal and kids are encouraged to dress. Then we were off dress shoe shopping (wing tips of course) and finally figuring out all the details of who is driving, where are they eating dinner and the dreaded curfew issue. Baby Jack was there with me as we talked about his date, her red hair and how ‘super cool’ she is. It can be a bit much. These moments make my heart soar. They make the climb up the mountain a breezy easy stroll. They make me float.

For the love of Mondays. It is the working man who is a happy man. The idle man is miserable. Often The Husband and I wake in the middle of the night at the same time. (We embrace Second Sleep. I really only have about 10-15 years left to be able to work. WELL, NOT ME.
