L M Montgomery Reading Challenge 2013. Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; Great quote. A very suitable gift. January 6, 2013. For the past week my friend Kazumi has been visiting from Japan. She was amazed to see the pile of books beside my bed. Kazumi is not a voracious reader and was anxious that I did not lose track of what I had read so we searched and were both delighted to find this journal at a local stationers. This should aid my determination to review all the books I read this year!

L M Montgomery Reading Challenge 2013. Just another WordPress.com site. L M Montgomery Reading Challenge 2013. I have joined this challenge and intend to thoroughly enjoy re-reading ALL my favourite Anne books. The little red-haired orphan from Prince Edward Island captured my imagination as a six year old and has remained my ‘kindred spirit’ ever since. Her name is still my favourite name of all time. I often quote her or Diana, or Marilla, or Matthew, or Mrs Lynd or even Gilbert. Anne of Green Gables.

L M Montgomery Reading Challenge 2013. Just another WordPress.com site. The Lazarus Vault – Tom Harper. January 4, 2012. An intricate tale, this book alternates in almost kafkaesque style between a 12th century Arthurian tale and the modern search by the heroine Ellie and her boyfriend Doug for the elusive Holy Grail. Tom Harper has other books which will be added to my To Be Read list in the future. Twilight in Venice – Steven Carroll. January 2, 2012. Book Number 1 – 2012. December 30, 2011. During the...

MARGARET'S BLOG: Sewing
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/p/sewing.html
Butterick B5466 to pattern with added length - took in a substantial amount on side seams. Fabric from Royal Oak Sewing Centre Wool/Viscose mix - slightly too thick but certainly warm. Bought because it would match the cream jacket I already own). Fully lined in black pongee. With my Max jacket which is now too big - will I be bothered taking this in? I'm pleased with the matching plaid on side seams. And the matching on the back seam too. Taken with self timer on my Nikon Coolpix. Butterick B5466 View E.
MARGARET'S BLOG: After a short break...
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/after-short-break.html
Saturday, 4 July 2015. After a short break. Winter is truly here. The temperatures have dropped, snow is falling in the South and rain is falling in the North. Great weather to sit inside with my stitching. Even so, I haven't produced much. Currently the little crosses of my stitching are producing Christmas goodies:. However I wanted an Advent tree for me so am stitching the same chart but in DMC115 monotone. And in a lapse of my usual commonsense I started on this. Of course that cannot all be price an...
MARGARET'S BLOG: August 2015
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, 27 August 2015. An update for Kazumi. My friend Kazumi sent a beautiful lacquered lip mirror key chain which the HD3QBEM promptly attached to the bag she uses. What a lovely thoughtful birthday gift. 和美さん、母が喜んでいます。早速日曜日に利用しているバッグにつけておきました。ありがとうございます。 Links to this post. Saturday, 22 August 2015. The big, the small and the epic error. Spring is showing her face and my garden has both big daffodils. And the teeny weeny miniature ones. This week I plan to lace the panels for the Sampler Casket....
MARGARET'S BLOG: I will I will... I hope I will
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-will-i-will-i-hope-i-will.html
Saturday, 11 July 2015. I will I will. I hope I will. Currently I have two WIPs that I am determined to finish which will give me time to decide on my next project. My Sampler Casket needs to be finish-finished and there are also two pieces that need construction and some quilted placemats that need a binding. Sounds like enough to keep me busy doesn't it? However today the HD3QBEM had a list of chores that needed doing so we went off into the City and I parked her at the yarn shop while I. Anyway it was...
MARGARET'S BLOG: July 2015
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 26 July 2015. The strawberry bag is now finished. I am pleased with this one and walked around the fabric shop trying unsuccessfully to get a green silk for the lining before coming home and delving back into stash. This scarlet chinese silk is not an exact match but it looks OK and at least I could do the happy dance! Links to this post. Saturday, 18 July 2015. Strawberries grow well in the rain. My quilted placemats need the binding hand finished and I'll do that tonight. I'm still ditherin...
MARGARET'S BLOG: December 2014
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 December 2014. Adam and Eve at Year's End. Today is the last of the four day holiday weekend we have for Christmas. Most people will now have three days work before another four day weekend for New Year. You'd think I would be rested and refreshed after that amount of time off wouldn't you? I feel tired, hot and frazzled. The past days have been a blur of cooking, dishes, guests and poor sleep. Links to this post. Monday, 22 December 2014. Advent Calendar Blog Hop. Is at my house. I want to sh...
MARGARET'S BLOG: March 2015
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, 28 March 2015. Just a brief catch up tonight as I have a nasty head cold and am in no state for stitching or blogging. This week I have been making strawberries and after completing one Florentine Stitch band on the left hand side realised it was half the designated width. How fortunate that this stitch does not require reversing and additions are easily made :-) What a messy shot this is but you can see what I mean. And the local supermarket had these mini daffodils on sale for Easter! However...
MARGARET'S BLOG: Sampler Casket is now complete
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/sampler-casket-is-now-complete.html
Sunday, 21 June 2015. Sampler Casket is now complete. I have now finished the stitching for the Sampler Casket but need a break so it is put away until I find the right colour silk for lining and then I will construct. Some simple cross stitch is in order to soothe the soul and I have made a start on this - in a larger count fabric and my favourite DMC 115 this is just what is needed. I plan on the complexity being in the construction so watch this space. Jo who can't think of a clever nickname. Glad to ...
MARGARET'S BLOG: The casket is on hold....
http://margaretmyblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-casket-is-on-hold.html
Sunday, 17 May 2015. The casket is on hold. After completing the fence and checking that the size of the front panel was correct I found I have still not decided whether to make this a 'family' casket or not. So for now, the couple remain faceless and the front lawns empty. My favoured quote to go along the bottom edge is too long so perhaps I will settle for initials of forebears? And tonight I'm off to watch Antiques Roadshow and enjoy my stitching. 17 May 2015 at 19:42. 18 May 2015 at 02:33. The caske...

This book was written as a result of the author attending a weekend workshop on “Writing Life Stories” and while it may not settle into a place among famous literature was a heart-warming story which kept me captivated from beginning to end.
