Let them eat cake. December 7, 2012. Let them eat cake! Well, why not. It’s Christmas afterall. Emma and I have put together gluten, dairy and sugar free cake recipes for our clients, friends, family who are on special diets. It’s also for those who are watching their weight or would like to eat a ‘healthier’ cake. The recipes below contain either Stevia or Xylitol as a sugar subsitute. They are available from most supermarkets. Chocolate and Chestnut Cake. 125 g unsalted butter. 65 g xylitol or stevia.

Chocolate and Beetroot Don’t Go! March 18, 2011. Hate it or love it : Beetroot! I used to hate it but now I love it. However, there is a place for beetroot and it’s not in chocolate cake. Chocolate doesn’t need beetroot and beetroot doesn’t need chocolate! My children are still reeling from the horror of tasting the said cake and are accusing me of not mentioning there was a vegetable in it – it MAY have slipped my mind!
