Tales from a Tropical Isle. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Patching a ceiling in 7 photos. We have a leaky roof that damaged the sugar cane fiber board (cane-ik) in the kitchen. We hope to install a new kitchen floor in the next few months, so we decided to start at the top, by repairing and painting the ceiling. Here is the repair process:. Purchased a gas power washer on super clearance so we can get ready to paint the house. I'm primed to unload the master bedroom and install our bamboo floor (finally).

Tales from a Tropical Isle. Monday, November 19, 2012. Lots of progress in just the first month:. New exterior doors on the entire house. We removed the roof gardens and installed new gutters. Roof garden in one of the former gutters. No more rusty, hazardous gutters on the front. One of the back gutters. We think this side of the roof was a major contributor to the water beside the house. The gutter empties into a drain box to keep the water off the surface. The drain tile runs out to the drive way.

Sunday, September 13, 2009. Over a year later. Today was majorly excellent. A storm swell blew in and the waves out at 38th and Capitola were rolling in with overhead. Unfortunately, I didn't take this opportunity to dive in with the fishes (Sabine, Matt and Sarah) but look forward to brushing up on my surf skills and catching some massive waves this winter. Tomorrow i am leaving to either bonn or aachen. bonn is a large city further south of cologne and is the birthplace of beethoven. aachen is right on the border with the netherlands and belgium, so if i end up there i will be riding my bike into both countries. i haven{t decided yet. but im gettig very very excited to watch some 6-day action, and then its back to school for me! Idag var det den sista lediga dagen innan jag jobbar nio dagar i sträck. Runt elva mötte jag upp Sabina på stan. Vi tog en liten tur till Swedbank för lite ärenden.
