Reading Post 3: The Vietnam War outside of Vietnam. February 16, 2015. During the Vietnam War, women held a variety of occupations. These jobs ranged from women participating on the ground in the form of combat and medical assistance, to women entertainers who visited the soldiers. Although these occupations differ significantly in the skills required and job performed, several women shared a consistent desire to fill a “female role” for male soldiers. Women as opposed to Vietnamese women.
