Installation visad på Bildmuseet, Umeå, under masterutställningen. Stiliserade fönster och dörrar i förskjutna perspektiv, 7000 plastsoldater utgör löven i ett flertal träd. En mekanisk barnröst räknar ned, men missar irriterande nog en siffra. Verket gestaltar ett barndomsminne från en feberhallucination, men har även parallella tolkningar, som en sorgmanifestation mot krig och våld eller om kopplingen lek-makt.

The Absence of Mirrors. 2009, Animation 9 minutes. A film by Aron Hidman and Mariel Rosendahl. With Gabriel Bohm Calles. In the beginning it was dark. One can not become aware of the self, before meeting another. There might not be anything outside, anything else, or anyone else. So, one creates it - being the fool, the child, the genius and God at the same time, feeling lonely but without yet knowing loneliness. Meeting someone else is meeting yourself; your flaws and your greatness.

Mitt arbete ligger i gränslandet, mellan det fysiska och psykiska, naturen och kulturen, att ha kontroll och att tappa den, med blinkningar till klassiska sagor, bara för att.
