The Inner Game of the Outdoors. Travel, bushwalking and photography. October 12, 2015. December 21, 2015. We left Sao Paulo on a Wednesday night and caught a 10pm flight to Cuiaba. We arrived close to midnight in the hotel. Fortunately the air conditioning was excellent as outside it was boiling hot. That feature remained for most of our trip. Early the next morning, Ailton Lara, owner of Pantanal Nature. When we arrived at the camp I was warmly greeted by Jose, who last year had managed the boat, but wa...

The Inner Game of the Outdoors. Travel, bushwalking and photography. October 8, 2012. November 22, 2013. I’m normally known as Macpac mad, but I indulged on the weekend and finally got around to buying an Aarn. I settled on the Featherlite Freedom. And in case you’re wondering: I’m not sponsored by Aarn, nor by Backpacking Light. Simply, when I find out about interesting equipment and experience great service, I like to pass the word on to others. That’s all there is to this post. On reaching my limits.

The Inner Game of the Outdoors. Travel, bushwalking and photography. Aarn Featherlite Freedom review. February 17, 2014. May 16, 2014. Back in October 2012 I blogged. I used two one-litre water bladders that slide neatly in the mesh pockets of the front pockets and are very easy to get out and back in. Most of the food went into the right front pocket, with first aid and camera going into the left front pocket. I p articularly loved having the camera so easily. Last day in Bariloche. The Inner Game of the Outdoors. Travel, bushwalking and photography. May 24, 2012. September 18, 2012. Ah, on the beach indeed. Not just a reference to my current location, but also had to think of that old Chris Rea song that was a big hit when I has just finished school and was on holidays on Texel. Did a nice walk this afternoon, following a path through the dunes, down to the beach. The breeze was still cool and quite strong, so we walked with the wind in our backs. We stopped at one of the b...Sorry...

The Inner Game of the Outdoors. Travel, bushwalking and photography. May 16, 2012. September 18, 2012. So I decided I’d just pick up the bus from there and go back to Rome and spend another day sightseeing instead. “Just pick up a bus” turned into a two hour wait, so I was a tad stiff with cold when it finally arrived, but from taking the bus at one, I was back in Rome by 4pm, checked into the hotel shortly after. Happy days. A farewell to mozzarella. May 8, 2012. May 11, 2012. After picking up my now pr...
