September | 2011 | His grace to me was not without effect
https://marissavilla.wordpress.com/2011/09
His grace to me was not without effect. By the grace of God I am what I am. Monthly Archives: September 2011. Everyone is talking about it. September 8, 2011. I went to a Bebo Norman concert that night the night of Sept. 11, 2001. I didn’t really know who he was at the time. I only knew a couple of my church friends really liked the guy and the tickets … Continue reading →. My World Race Blog. His grace to me was not without effect. I accidentally ate moldy cheese | His grace to me was not without effect

His grace to me was not without effect. By the grace of God I am what I am. The year of peace and knowing better. The peace within pain →. I accidentally ate moldy cheese. January 10, 2012. Confession: I called my dad today and asked him for 30 bucks. It was just one of those weeks when you realize you’re at the end of the pay period and accidentally eating moldy cheese on a pretty expired corn tortilla. What? Does that not happen to anyone else? Not to mention my personality/love language/whatever the h...
Ash Wednesday thoughts | His grace to me was not without effect
https://marissavilla.wordpress.com/2012/02/22/ash-wednesday-thoughts
His grace to me was not without effect. By the grace of God I am what I am. The peace within pain. Bluebonnets make me happy →. February 22, 2012. Today’s Ash Wednesday, a day I never observed while growing up. In fact, I always kind of hated the day. I wasn’t Catholic and the kids at school would spend the day asking each other what they gave up. I didn’t understand it and I always had to go into some sort of explanation about not observing Ash Wednesday. As an adult, I think it’s a beautiful day. IR...

His grace to me was not without effect. By the grace of God I am what I am. I accidentally ate moldy cheese. Ash Wednesday thoughts →. The peace within pain. February 7, 2012. Pain as a Christian is a funny thing. It’s, like, you know that whatever is happening is part of your story, part of what molds you and shapes you. Butit still hurts. That’s the hardest thing about the foreign mission field is that yet they were full of joy part. It’s hard to understand because pain is pain. WHY are they smiling?

His grace to me was not without effect. By the grace of God I am what I am. Bluebonnets make me happy. My plane ride with an atheist. May 12, 2012. A few weeks ago as I was flying home from the Dominican Republic the guy in the seat next to me started talking to me. A lot. Crap, I thought. This is the moment I’m supposed to share steps, or verses, or testimonies. Or something. I guess I was a bad evangelist in that moment. Know what he’s doing when it comes to my life. Or because sometimes I wa...8220;Fo...
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime. | His grace to me was not without effect
https://marissavilla.wordpress.com/2011/12/23/simply-having-a-wonderful-christmastime
His grace to me was not without effect. By the grace of God I am what I am. It’s a small world. And it’s weird. The year of peace and knowing better →. Simply having a wonderful Christmastime. December 23, 2011. It’s funny how Christmas is a really busy time of year. We’re always rushed to get to the next place, to clean up the apartment for the next guest, and to constantly check the online checking account to make sure there’s still money in it. Or is that just me? My friend Hope the other day asked me...
What a Pair!: September 2009
http://villawhatapair.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. This feature is related to Joshua. He had an interesting weekend. It began with a pair of moccasins from Grandpa and Auntie Jayne. Here he is doing a dance for us. If you look closely at the following picture, you will see the sweat coming through the hat. Poor baby! Friday, September 25, 2009. On the weekends, especially Saturday, we try to take it easy at our house. This past weekend I did a lot of baking (pepperoni rolls, kolaches, and rolls). The kids enjoyed help...Then ...
What a Pair!: March 2009
http://villawhatapair.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2009. Last Sunday we took the kids to the rodeo. Once we left, Josue and I were wondering what we had just done. The kids didn't get a nap, oh no. And we were thinking the show, Randy Travis, started right at 3PM. Wrong! It didn't start until 6PM. So we had to fill in the time. There were rides (super expensive) so they each got to ride one. These were the sweet moments. Joshua chose a motorcycle ride. He even looks the part of biker with his cool Diego shades. Thursday, March 19, 2009.
What a Pair!: March 2010
http://villawhatapair.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 27, 2010. My children aren't in school yet, but that doesn't mean we couldn't celebrate spring break! Our neighbor friends Grace and Lucas with the help of their mom planned some exciting events for us. On Monday, the kids created a book all about themselves. We made them using a lapbook. Here's Grace and Joshua working hard. Where are Lucas and Tabitha? A little sidetracked, but having fun! I had never heard of this before. They also played Bingo, made clover crafts, and ate green food.

The Effects of Marketing on Children
The Effects of Marketing on Children. Let’s leave food out of this for a second…. As important as I think it is to talk about the implications of child-centered advertising on eating behaviour, I also want to discuss the implications it can have on self esteem and body image. Children’s Mental Health Ontario. I’ve always wondered why we rarely see average-sized women as models, in commercial ads, etc. If I can’t come to terms with this, how is a child to? As I mentioned in a reply to one of my readers, D...
