Musings from the midwest. Sunday, August 30, 2009. Had a brief visit from the in-laws this weekend, which was pretty fun. Hit up Ikea and a bunch of other stores in town, including Trader Joes! I'll put up pics, including those from the fair soon.I'm taking a lazy day today. Pdiz and i are napping on the couch, eating fruit pizza. It's a rough life, but someone's got to live it :). Musings from the midwest. Friday, May 21, 2010. Spent the day digging up FREE plants to plant in our yard! Friday, May 7, 2010. Had some friends over for dinner- couple friends! And had a great time! If i were any good at taking photos of food, i'd include snapshots of what i made. Alas, i am not. Thus, all i have are links:. Awesome asparagus hash (made with bacon instead). The most chocolatey cake ever. They both turned out so well! Dinner was great, conversation was fabulous, all in all a great night!

Then the stalks are quite tasty enough. This month’s CanJam challenge. Hosted by Toronto Tasting Notes offers not one but two options for us to put up: Asparagus or rhubarb. Given that I’d used the former in last month’s project (the theme was herbs, and I made tarragon asparagus pickles. My path was clear.
