Making stuff is fun! Archive for March, 2011. March 22, 2011. Imagine, if you will, lying face-down upon a wheeled apparatus that holds you so that the only parts of your body that touch the ground are your nipples. Then, imagine that you are pulled across town, nips dragging along the blacktop. When you arrive home, visualize yourself sitting down next to your Dyson (never loses suction! I haven’t been back there. I wrote this with one hand. March 19, 2011. This is possibly the most frightening thought,...

Christmas Issues | Hasenfeffer Incorporated

Making stuff is fun! December 1, 2011. Did you believe in Santa? Like I missed out on anything, but what if I did? On the other hand, it seems that telling your kid that Santa is real is taking a gamble–maybe she will gracefully grow out of it, or maybe she will believe until she’s 12 and have an embarrassing encounter at school and feel totally betrayed. Thank goodness we have another year or two to decide. He was a nice looking Santa, I will give him that. And listen to this: I was going to scrap the w...

Making stuff is fun! I wrote this with one hand. March 19, 2011. The first week home from the hospital was maybe the worst week of my life. I feel bad saying that, but there you have it. I would just stare wordlessly at David and wonder why we ruined our carefree life and easy relationship. Was this a mistake? With Ruby happily snoring on my shoulder, I’m optimistic about this whole endeavor. The arrival of spring feels symbolic–winter and all the dark feelings that went with it are endin...You are comme...

Making stuff is fun! February 15, 2011. We had Ruby Lucille Carmella at 10:28pm on January 28th. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and surprised us all with a beautiful head covered in blonde hair –not red like David’s or brown like mine. Does the internet need another birth story? You guys, it’s hard for me to describe what pushing felt like, but it was pretty much the worst thing ever. And it lasted for 4 hours. It seemed like it would never end. I kept asking, “Am I closer? On to the pictures! I have bee...

Making stuff is fun! November 17, 2011. In the movie Bed of Roses. Anyway, here’s what I want for Christmas! So I want some clip-on earrings. Lands End Cozy Fleece Coat. Now that I will be running around outside with a child, I think it’s time for me to get a more….athletic coat. This is athletic as I can get, though. I mean, it has a zipper, so that’s about my limit. I have always (for the last year) wanted these. Extra Large African Baskets. Vintage Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt. I even have yarn f...

Nomads No More | Hasenfeffer Incorporated
https://hasenfefferinc.wordpress.com/2011/10/03/nomads-no-more
Making stuff is fun! October 3, 2011. David and I have been somewhat nomadic for the past 6 years, but last February, we actually renewed a lease for the very first time. This December we will have lived in this house longer than any other we’ve inhabited (including the one we owned! Surprisingly, all this superficial rearranging did the trick. But I’m sure that come January, we’ll both be checking out craigslist just to see what’s out there. Other new stuff on my mind:. Shouldn’t we get chickens? Well, ...

Making stuff is fun! June 27, 2011. Newsflash: having a baby takes up ALL OF YOUR TIME. So, I’ve neglected this blog for a while. Here are some things:. Breastfeeding got much easier! I often wondered if I would know if I had an ugly baby, since all mothers seem to think their babies are cute, even if their baby looks sort of…funny. Unfortunately, I gave birth to the most adorable baby to ever live, so I guess I’ll never know. Responses to “5 Months! Feed for this Entry. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008. I'm tired and sitting in the dark. Grrrrr.stupid storms. Who is the sweetest bulldog ever? I don't know how this is possible, but my electricity is currently half off. As in, my AC and fridge work, but no other electricity in my apartment works, and all of my neighbors have full power. What gives? On an up note, the Dominion Power representative who is coming out to check my issue sounded hot. Insert funny "get my power restored" sexual innuendo joke here. June 11, 2008 at 3:25 PM.

I love pandas.: A trip back in time...
http://thirtyflirtyfun.blogspot.com/2008/08/trip-back-in-time.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. A trip back in time. Okay, actually we decided to take a trip to Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant in Hagerstown, MD, and if you have ever been to a Fazoli’s you’ll know why we decided to drive 75 miles for dinner. The breadsticks are divine! We walked around the town until dusk when we had to meet up with our tour group. Our tour guide (replete with spooky lantern! Informed our whole group that we were very lucky because we had a special ghost hunter on our tour this evening! So we...
