Opera, non Verba.: Back into it.
http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2007/11/back-into-it.html
Monday, November 19, 2007. I was hoping to come back stronger to this - but it didn't happen. I still made it, but it took alot more intensity. I hope it's just the shock and readjustments of my body and that wednesdays run will go a slight better. Weapons class. Grading preparation. 2min demonstration of warmup exercises. Stance and movement basics. Mine, and apparently a few others' kamae was narrowing as we moved forward. Stepdrag Jab-cross, reverse kamae. Shikodachi c-steps forward then backward.

Opera, non Verba.: A couple of changes.
http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2008/02/couple-of-changes.html
Saturday, February 23, 2008. A couple of changes. So I'm currently in a decent cardio routine and It's all going great, but I was just looking back through my previous posts when I came across the little write-up I did on HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). Suddenly I remembered I wanted to give this a go just to see for myself any real difference in results when compared to simple, steady-state cardio. So here's the goal for next week:. Dynamic active stretch routine. Dynamic active stretch routine.

http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2007/12/christmas-time-and-i-have-floor.html
Thursday, December 27, 2007. Christmas time, and I have a floor. Today I don't have any reason to not get anything done today, In fact it's quite the opposite - I'm keen to put the new floor to use and get some sweat on it. So I might go for a run and come back for some kata at home with the usual pressups and situps. Next week I might add in some freeweights and swissball exercises. Running: No change - non-stop for 1.5Km before going 2/2. Pushups: 3 sets of 20, 1min rests. Situps: 1 set of 50.

Opera, non Verba.: Wednesday, grappling drills
http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2007/11/wednesday-grappling-drills.html
Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Wednesday, grappling drills. Today is exactly one year since I started KRMA and one year since I quit smoking - and still going strong. Admittedly I can smell a B&H Special from across a road but it doen't mean I have to have it. All I have to think about is how exhausted I make myself these days, and then think about smokers cough on top of that - I think I would've choked and died by now. 2min demonstration of warmup exercises. Guard to scissor armbar. Mount to guard sweep.

Opera, non Verba.: Bumps in the road
http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2008/02/its-been-over-2-weeks-since-my-last.html
Monday, February 4, 2008. Bumps in the road. It's been over 2 weeks since my last post here, and during that time I've weathered an injury, another flat tyre, an an illness, and a burn-out which was more than likely in tie to the illness. It's been frustrating - because every time I've felt ready to go again something gets in the way. The plan from here is to refocus on just cardio and flexibility. I'm stepping up how often I run, and the finished plan has some form of cardio every morning - varying ...

Opera, non Verba.: Monday - another weapons class
http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2007/11/monday-another-weapons-class.html
Monday, November 5, 2007. Monday - another weapons class. But then again, like Sempai's told us plenty of times - come ready for anything. Partner situps with jab-cross. 4-count strikes vs blocks. We drilled this for quite a while - we were left to do 10 a side then switch until Sempai was done tutoring the yellow belts. Jaz and I got through 3 or 4 switches, at quite a pace too - I was impressed with the improvements in both our techniques. Single sinawali vs single sinawali. Train hard. Fight easy.

Opera, non Verba.: Feeling the burn
http://operanonverba.blogspot.com/2008/01/feeling-burn.html
Thursday, January 17, 2008. So the intensity is up and still rising, it's friday, and I'm still alive. This week has been as such:. Every day - cycled 2x 9Km. Made every effort to power up the hills. The course I take is difficult at the beginning and easier at the end - on the way there , but it's much harder on the way back, and with only home and more punishment awaiting me there I try to really empty the tank throught the last couple of hills. Monday and Wednesday - class. Train hard. Fight easy.
