Monday, 30 July 2007. The eagle has landed. With 12% of the American population claiming Irish ancestry it seemed appropriate to fly via Aer Lingus, oh and it was the cheapest flight. None the less, I was with illustrious company, the 'Irish Hip Hop Crew' heading out to compete in the World Hip Hop championships. Hoodies, faux diamond earings and shamrocks - somehow I can't visualise US hip hop with a Riverdance strand, maybe thats the next big thing. Very tasty but distinctly odd! Friday, 27 July 2007.

Monday, 18 July 2011. Over the bridge and onto Fehmarn for the ferry to Denmark. A new country to add to the list. Konrad, for a 1 year old, is now well travelled having visited: Sweden, France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark. A long slow slog in the rain up to Kungshamn. Tuesday, 24 June 2008. Spent the day in Baltimore. Another poor and rough city. The city centre was smart and prosperous looking but the suburbs were a different story. Rough, rundown and dirty. Seems like another area hit by mass unemployment. People I spoke to talked about the area previously being a home to manufacturing and fishing but now that has long gone. Monday, 6 April 2009. Middlebury to Ann Arbor. Monday, 6th April: Middlebury – Ann Arbor. Woke up to the see the world covered in a blanket of snow. Breakfast at the beehive. Were given 2 xhome made applebutter (a type of applesauce) one for us and one for our friend we are visiting in NY. Went to menno-hof museum to learn more about the Mennonites, Hutterites and Amish. Back for lunch to Middlebury at the Village inn where the Amish come to eat. On the road to Ann Arbour. Middlebury to Ann Arbor.

Tuesday, 31 March 2009. Lazy start to the day. Breakfast. Picked up some skis and headed off ski touring to Taggart lake in the Grand Teton National Park. At the end – bollocksed. Evening in the Snake River Brewery. Rack of ribs and a few home brewed beers. Nice, very nice. Oh, and a final sharpner listening to Country and Western in the Silver Dollar bar. Wind Non stop wind.
