Stephen Honey will lead a guided tour around Muchelney Abbey. Membership is on a " 2 each meeting" basis. All are welcome to attend. The Martock Local History Group. We are based in Martock, Somerset and meet monthly for lectures on local historical topics. We also carry out research into the history of Martock, its inhabitants and local archaeology. Our meetings are held generally in Martock on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Nigel Harvey will give a short presentation on the extensive Roman trading settlement SSARG are excavating in Stapleton next to the River Parrett. Followed by our AGM. 24th May - NOTE 6pm start. A walk up North Street looking at the buildings and their history with Fergus. Start at the Market House, should last about an hour. Tuesday 28th June, 6pm. Tuesday 19 July, NOTE 6 pm start. In August we have no meeting.
