Cows and Combat Boots: Switzerland
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2011/12/switzerland.html
Sunday, December 18, 2011. Back in September (wow, was it really that long ago? We took a trip to Switzerland. We couldn't decide exactly where we wanted to go, so I relied on a Rick Steves' episode from PBS to give me some pointers. I'm not like a devote follower to Rick Steves, but figured I'd give it a shot, and head to Gimmelwald. In fact, Rick was staying there just a week before we got there. We also got to see a special treat in Murren, an Alpine Horn practice. It was so neat! Also, the cheese, is...

Cows and Combat Boots: Dezember
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2011/12/dezember.html
Thursday, December 1, 2011. I got a lovely birthday card from my Aunt Jean with a note, and she said she comes here every once in awhile to see what I'm up to. I feel like I've let her down since it's been for-EVER since I've posted. I must admit, the more bored I am, the more likely I am to blog. I promise to get caught up. There's lots of things to share with you! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Almabtrieb- Austrian Cattle Drive. View my complete profile. Template images by andynwt.

Cows and Combat Boots: Heidelberg
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2011/06/heidelberg.html
Tuesday, June 28, 2011. I love how the Germans say the word "berg." Much more elegant than how the English say it. When you hear a them say "Heidelberg," the name sounds just like you would think the city looks like. With Heidelberg Castle overlooking a quaint old town, and it's iconic old stone bridge over the Neckar River, it's easy to see why this is a popular tourist destination. So we decided to sit under the Alte Brucke. Rest of the photos. Only one awkward picnic lunch photo included). Wow all I t...

Cows and Combat Boots: April 2011
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. A can in honor of Bonduel, WI. Hey, ya going up to Rhinelander, er no? The "er no" is taught even in my High German course as correct Deutsch. Ending question with "oder? Hey der eh." and "Yous got da beer? You going wit dem? Although not used quite the same, the German "the" der, das, die, den, dem, des. you can still hear it. What are yous guys doin' tonight? Yes, there is a proper German term for "yous guys.". So now you know. We ain't simple folk, we're cultured!

Cows and Combat Boots: November 2010
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 19, 2010. MilSpouse Friday Fill-In 22. Yikes, I think I was off on my number of Friday Fill-Ins. We're at 22! Life is a bit slow at the moment, but we have tons of things planned in the next few month. Stay tuned! 1 If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs – such as food and water – were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you? 2 If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have? If I "had" to? My stamp of approval on the b...

Cows and Combat Boots: October 2010
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 29, 2010. MilSpouse Friday Fill-In 19. Another Friday is upon us. Not a lot of fun things to report since the last Friday Fill-In. October has been a very long month financially for us, so we've been hunkering down. I can't believe that November is just around the corner! Also, I apologize for the formatting differences. Blogger doesn't like it when I copy and past directly from Wife of a Sailor. 1 What’s the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you? I want kids so I can play with al...

Cows and Combat Boots: Disc Golf
http://cowsandcombatboots.blogspot.com/2011/07/disc-golf.html
Saturday, July 16, 2011. We went to Mainer Volkspark, and it was quite apparent that disc golf isn't as well known in Germany. Take this photo for example:. Maybe it's the German attitude, or maybe they had no clue what that weird basket thing is, but there they are, sunbathing right on the fairway. In fact, out of the six pins at Mainzer Volkspark, three had people lounging RIGHT next to the pin. I thought it was hilarious, Craig found it annoying. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
