Click on an image. Sepia Mists of Time, Acrylic on Canvas, 100cms x 80cms, 200. The painting is a sequel to An Age of Innocence. The photograph (circa 1924) of my Mum and her sister is the first recorded photograph of them both. The photograph is a thin strip as my Grandmother did not like her photo being taken so had cut herself out of the original. The young children are dressed the same in hand knitted suits and leggings as was the fashion of the time.

When I was 17 I was not mature enough to realise my ambition and took the easy path to making a living, this is something I have always regretted and now want to make amends whilst I have the dexterity to do so. I have created a series of monotone pastel, charcoal, acrylic and mixed media pieces of which 'Through the Trees' is my favourite:. My work is constantly evolving and currently I am investigating abstraction using saturated colours with strong monotone undercurrents. I mainly use homemade dragging tools and even sometimes a paint brush! I love to use bold intuitive sweeps of the paint mixing the colours on the canvas. My goal is to take the viewer on a journey that stimulates the senses and sparks the imagination, to convey energy and ignite awareness in whoever is looking at them. Last Update: April 2012.
