Sunday, December 2, 2012. Our American Thanksgiving Feast. Sarah and I both love a good food prep challenge and enjoyed cooking for two days. Our menu consisted of the most “American” dishes we could think of including sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, succotash, mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, and pumpkin pie. Thank you to our wonderful friends who came to our feast, brought wine to share, and sat around our table as a big happy family. Barcelona can be b...

Sunday, September 4, 2011. Three years of wedded bliss. A few days ago was our 3 year wedding anniversary. Time flies when you are having fun! We are so blessed and happy to have each other, and it just keeps getting better. Here is the video that we made and viewed at our wedding reception. Enjoy! Mary and Rob "Two Become One". Wedding Blessing for Kim and Dave. For Kim and Dave's wedding, we were asked to say a blessing during the wedding ceremony with the option of writing it ourselves. May you be fil...

Sunday, August 12, 2012. The last time I updated this blog was in April when we had a flurry of activity and visitors. I come again to write after an even bigger flurry of summer activity over the past month. It seems that a lot of wonderful things happen in clusters for us by coincidence. After a long stretch of “normal” life throughout May and June with lots of rain and work, we just finished a wonderful series of events and travel that began for us on the 13. Of July and ended last week. With a hearty...

Sunday, April 15, 2012. Travels with family and friends. In the past three weeks, we had the good fortune of having six visitors from home! With dad at Salisbury. Resting in Peace at the American Cemetary. Mom looking for the 79th Infantry Divison. A quote at the D-Day Museum in Caen. The next day we took a high speed train to Paris from Caen. Paris was also on its best behaviour when we arrived. The weather was nice, our hotel was well located and we were all happy to be there. Mom and dad at Notre Dame.

Learning English: An Un-fjordgettable trip

http://marycwilk.blogspot.com/2012/09/an-un-fjordgettable-trip.html

Saturday, September 1, 2012. Credit for the pun goes to Rob, of course, who would like everyone to know “there is plenty more where that came from.”. We spent last weekend in Norway to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. This was another cheap-flight weekend getaway and it is high on the list of favorites so far. Our trip mostly consisted of activities that allowed us to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the country. An iconic view of Bergen. The narrow lanes with old wooden buildings. In our three days explo...

Oh the Places I will Go! A summer in China. Thursday, August 2, 2012. The end is here. Here it is. My final full day in China and I will be talking about the past week because I have had limited time to write on here! Tuesday night me and Tyler went to the blind massage place for my last massage. It was a wonderful hour. I am going to miss this very cheap weekly luxury. Friday, July 27, 2012. It has been a long and fun week! A blink of an eye and I am already saying goodbyes this week as David and Grace ...

Only skin between her life and a return to the great wide ocean. It has been a long time. October 23, 2014. October 23, 2014. What else do you say to a someone you knew once, a long time ago, whom you’ve inevitably lost touch with; whom you have thought about on occasion through the passing years, knowing you should call or write or make an effort to at least reach out to…. And then what do you say? How do you catch up? Where do you start? Is this enough…? How much color do I need to give? Maybe all I sa...
