Alas & Indeed: Anticipation
http://alasnindeed.blogspot.com/2011/05/anticipation.html
Periodic epiphanies and other less-than-profound musings from the North. Wednesday, May 04, 2011. It feels like something is about to happen. Perhaps it is just the changing seasons. I have always been prone to hypersensitivity to such things. I can't quite identify when: a couple of days ago, a week, maybe. Something flipped, an internal switch. So I'm waiting with a touch of existential breathlessness . and smiling. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Alas & Indeed: November 2010
http://alasnindeed.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Periodic epiphanies and other less-than-profound musings from the North. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. I made the mistake of visiting my Gmail archives tonight. And one set, in particular, was akin to a visit with a ghost: hundreds and hundreds of conversations, laden with obvious affection and affinity. As a whole, they are the chronicle of a valued friendship, the words of someone I love. And they are all that's left. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Alas & Indeed: July 2010

Periodic epiphanies and other less-than-profound musings from the North. Sunday, July 25, 2010. You asked me why I like that photo so much, why, of the scores of shots of your face, I love that one above all others. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, when you asked me, because it's not like you look any more beautiful than normal or that the photo is remarkably well-composed. I love that one because it's real, because it's you, happy. Saturday, July 10, 2010. The king of . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Boreal Beauty: This Way: Alaska and the Yukon
http://borealbeauty.blogspot.com/2007/06/this-way-alaska-and-yukon.html
Friday, June 15, 2007. This Way: Alaska and the Yukon. This Way: Alaska and the Yukon. The most interesting quote:. When one of the many Texans working on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline got a little too uppity, a local would tell him: "If you're not careful, we'll divide Alaska into two halves and then Texas will be the third largest state in the Union.". Craptastic. Not even worth opening. Posted by Jenni Moody. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Coming Into the Country.

Boreal Beauty: July 2007

Monday, July 23, 2007. Breaking the News: Mom, Dad and Andrew. Surprisingly, Mom said she will want to visit. "I missed my chance to see Japan.". After dinner, we drove back up the mountain and Andrew gave me a tour of his tree house. I recorded his tour with my digital camera and promised to send him a copy soon. Nana called while I was there, and I told her as well. "That's a far piece," she said. I'm so excited.". Posted by Jenni Moody. Sunday, July 15, 2007. Where I'm Coming From. The Shed at Sunset.

Boreal Beauty: What I have learned so far
http://borealbeauty.blogspot.com/2007/10/what-i-have-learned-so-far.html
Sunday, October 21, 2007. What I have learned so far. I wanted to post beautiful pictures of our cabin. I wanted to document a new living experience - all of the wonders of outhouses, no running water, a place away from busy streets and lights. Thank you so much to everyone who sent information about places to live. Coming to Alaska was much less terrifying knowing that there are such awesome people here. Posted by Jenni Moody. October 26, 2007 at 12:26 PM. Congratulations Jenni. You did it. See? I am so...

Boreal Beauty: We made it!
http://borealbeauty.blogspot.com/2007/09/we-made-it.html
Saturday, September 1, 2007. Mike took this picture just a moment before we stepped onto our first Alaska Airlines flight. At midnight tonight we will have been in Alaska for a week. We've had interesting and exhausting adventures in trying to find a place to stay. An hour ago we dropped off our suitcases at our new apartment, and we're about to ride our bikes down to Fred Meyer. We need to get the funk out of the fridge and scrub down the bathroom, but I think it will be a good place to live. I would lo...
