Chag Sameach | Mary in Haifa
https://maryinhaifa.wordpress.com/2013/03/26/chag-sameach
Follow my adventures in Israel. Last night, I enjoyed my very first Seder with the Chagal family. They warmly invited myself and two classmates into their home and fed us until we wanted to burst! It was such a lovely, fun evening – I really enjoyed it. Big thank you to the Chagal family for including us and stopping to explain so many fine details as we went along. I’ll explain the evening from my point of view. Please excuse any mistakes or naivety. All the components of a proper setting. 4) Yachatz (B...
Israel List | Mary in Haifa
https://maryinhaifa.wordpress.com/israel-list
Follow my adventures in Israel. I’ve seen many “Must Do” lists on other travel blogs. Here is my list of things I want to do or try while I’m in Israel. It will be ever evolving. Once I do something – I will add the date I accomplished it and try to write a blog post about it. I will try my best to keep it up to date. Learn how to make hummus. Visit the Masada at sunrise. Visit the Wailing Wall. Hike from the university to the beach (reported to be a 3 hour hike). Attend the Holiday of Holidays festival.
Back in the Saddle | Mary in Haifa
https://maryinhaifa.wordpress.com/2013/03/07/back-in-the-saddle
Follow my adventures in Israel. Back in the Saddle. Well, I’m back in Haifa and classes started yesterday. I had one day’s reprieve before our first day of class. Jet lag is still tripping me up – I had the head bob thing going on by our last class last night. Luckily, most of my international classmates were in the same boat. We were a grumpy, exhausted crowd yet happy to be in each others’ company again. 8221; Suddenly, my time at home felt too short and I became grumpy about my return.
Passover, Pesach, Easter – What the what?? | Mary in Haifa
https://maryinhaifa.wordpress.com/2013/03/25/passover-pesach-easter-what-the-what
Follow my adventures in Israel. Passover, Pesach, Easter – What the what? A typical seder setting. So many people have been asking me what the difference is between Passover, Pesach and Easter. I’m going to assume you know what Easter is all about so I’ll just tackle Passover and Pesach. As it is known in Hebrew, is probably the biggest and most celebrated of all Jewish holidays. It’s not quite on the same scale commercially as Christmas, but spiritually and religiously, it’s right in there. I will be tr...
Spring Semester Resolutions | Mary in Haifa
https://maryinhaifa.wordpress.com/2013/02/17/spring-semester-resolutions
Follow my adventures in Israel. Well, before I know it I’ll be back in Haifa – buried waist deep in the spring semester. Last semester FLEW by so quickly and this coming semester is already shaping up to be a challenging one. Though between all my classes and a once a week internship in Jerusalem – I’d really like to get out and explore more. Here are some of the resolutions I’ve been thinking about:. Go to the beach in Haifa! Explore more of Haifa. I have yet to find a good hummus shop. Take a road trip!

A Redhead in London: Falling Off and Getting Back On
http://aredheadinlondon.blogspot.com/2012/10/falling-off-and-getting-back-on.html
A Redhead in London. Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Falling Off and Getting Back On. I seem to keep falling off the blogging wagon and always have some sort of excuse as to why my life has been so crazy or what I have been up to. To be honest, things had been a bit busy at the beginning of last month, but other than that I just got lazy or sucked into Breaking Bad. And have done not much else. How did things get busy? Tuesday, October 09, 2012. October 9, 2012 at 4:39 PM. October 9, 2012 at 4:51 PM. I'm somet...
A Redhead in London: London 2012 and Me
http://aredheadinlondon.blogspot.com/2012/08/london-2012-and-me.html
A Redhead in London. Monday, August 13, 2012. London 2012 and Me. I spent from April to July rehearsing anywhere from 5 hours after work to 12 hours a day, it was mental. We started this journey in a film studio over in Bromley-by-Bow where we danced, danced, danced our asses off. From there we moved to the EVER-SO-GLAM car park in Dagenham. Have you ever been to Daggers? I'm going to be performing there? I think he was there all but 2 of my 100 rehearsals. He is the most amazingly generous and kind ...

Mary in Guinea
Welcome to my blog! Thoughts, updates, and photos from my 2 years in Peace Corps Guinea. Thursday, June 9, 2016. I asked Kalil to share some words that he has found inspiring. What motivates someone to keep trying after all he had been through? C'est juste une petite histoire que je viens de me rappeler madame. Bear in mind that your own resolution to.
