Nancy Drew in Europe | In the Pink
https://pinkinthepink.wordpress.com/2010/04/16/nancy-drew-in-europe
Nancy Drew in Europe. Grace Kelley in Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief. I can think of no better context for reading the novels of British writer, Mary Stewart. When I was in high school, I pretty much chain-read Stewart’s books one summer (this would have been c. 2000). Luckily for me, my memory seems to reset about every five years, so recently, I’ve been rereading her stories with relish. Yesterday, it was. Stewart’s writing is wonderful. 8221; ( Sophocles,. 8221; ( Euripides,. And most fascinating...

Mary Stewart Novels blog: Mary Stewart ebooks
http://marystewartnovels.blogspot.com/2011/07/mary-stewart-ebooks.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Every so often I cruise Amazon's Kindle Store to see if they've released Mary Stewart's books in ebook format. There's still nothing in the U.S. store, but the U.K. seems to have the full line. Of her romantic suspense books! Hopefully this means that the U.S. editions are on their way. I couldn't find any of the Arthurian series on the U.K. Amazon. Surely they are working on those? Anyone have any info about Mary Stewart ebooks in other formats besides Kindle? I love my Kindle to...

Mary Stewart Novels blog: January 2012
http://marystewartnovels.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Article in Mystery Scene Magazine. I just came across a nice article. That appeared in Mystery Scene Magazine. Last summer. Not too much new information, except that it shares a little about Mary Stewart's reaction to getting an honorary degree from her alma mater, Durham University:. In a letter to me that same year, Lady Mary Stewart said of the experience, “It was indeed wonderful to be remembered—and in such a way—by my old University.”. 8220;No new book! Was published in 1...

http://marystewartnovels.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Charles Geer retrospective at Mulford Gallery. Charles Geer is a children's book and cover illustrator who did the beautiful drawings for many of the William Morrow editions of Mary Stewart's hardcovers. I've tried to do research on him, but have been unable to find too much. Here are a couple of his Stewart covers:. I came across an announcement. For a show of Geer's work at the Mulford Gallery. The show runs through June 15. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What's this blog all about?

Mary Stewart Novels blog: January 2011
http://marystewartnovels.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 20, 2011. A fellow Mary Stewart fan, let me know about these beautiful new editions that Hodder is publishing in the UK in March. Oooooh, LOVE! The illustrations are great - especially because the women are wearing such fabulous clothes and looking as posh and capable as any Mary Stewart heroine should. If I had the money, I'd buy the whole set! You can get them on Amazon UK. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What's this blog all about? Who is Mary Stewart? Airs Above the Ground.

Mary Stewart Novels blog: September 2010
http://marystewartnovels.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Mary Stewart on success. I can sit and talk happily to people about books and authors without realizing that I am myself the author of nine books. As a matter of fact, it still startles me to see my name on books, or to realize that it means anything to anyone. Yet, judging by the letters I receive from readers, it does.". Smaridge, Norah. Famous British Women Novelists. New York: Dodd, Mead and Co., 1967. Page 122. Sorry for the long, long, long time between posts! Was publi...

Rachel Reads: Doom and the West
http://rachelreads.blogspot.com/2009/05/doom-and-west.html
Saturday, May 9, 2009. Doom and the West. First up, what an incredible season finale of. I really hope it's not the series finale because the last few episodes have been amazing and I think next season could really rock. The big reveals in the show completely surprised me- I love TV shows that employ a good twist every now and then (cf. So here's hoping Fox renews it.and NBC renews. Oh, and that ABC renews. If I remember right, there was a decent hoopla about Gil Adamson's. How'd she learn to write?

Rachel Reads: Re-Reads
http://rachelreads.blogspot.com/2009/09/re-reads.html
Thursday, September 17, 2009. When I want a comforting read that I know I'll enjoy, Lauren Willig is a sure bet. In the last week, I've re-read. The Temptation of the Night Jasmine. The Seduction of the Crimson Rose. Both are lovely, spy-filled reads. With romance, mystery, history and a bit of adventure, the whole Pink Carnation series is one of my favorites. Going after her Ph.D. But she makes history fun to read about it. Did you include the part about her being intelligent for my benefit?

Jennie's B(ook)log: Waking the Witch, Kelley Armstrong
http://jenniesbooklog.blogspot.com/2011/02/waking-witch-kelley-armstrong.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. Waking the Witch, Kelley Armstrong. Title: Waking the Witch. Published: 2010, Dutton. I can't believe this is the 11th book in the Women of the Otherworld series! It doesn't seem like that many, but I think I've read them all. This installment of the series focuses on Savannah Levine, the powerful young witch first introduced in Stolen. I flipped the last page thinking there just had to be more to read. But nope. Just have to wait until the next book, I guess. ;). They are diff...

Jennie's B(ook)log: What the Librarian Did, Karina Bliss
http://jenniesbooklog.blogspot.com/2011/02/what-librarian-did-karina-bliss.html
Sunday, February 13, 2011. What the Librarian Did, Karina Bliss. Title: What the Librarian Did. Published: Harlequin, 2010. I hardly ever read Harlequins - it's really not because I'm a snob! I have tried several in the past and been disappointed by them. But this one got such a lot of good buzz in the blogosphere I had to give it a shot. Plus it's about a librarian! Okay, so the plot may be a little ridiculous, but I really enjoyed this book! Yes," said Rachel. "My mind.". Yes, youre right! This book di...
