Early Music Montreal: September 2005
http://earlymusicmontreal.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 16, 2005. Travels with Bernhard Böhm. The Montreal Recorder Festival. Has begun. The first concert was billed as Wind instruments from the Stone Age to the Baroque. Böhm plays beautifully. His playing was expressive with very clear articulation. It was a delightful and informative evening. Posted by susanvg at 7:42 AM. Share my love of Early Music. Early Music Montreal: November 2005
http://earlymusicmontreal.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 05, 2005. Just a few quick comments. This was a delightful concert. Planned as a palendrome with the second half approximately a mirror image of the first, we were treated to love songs, hunting songs, sorrowful songs. The ensemble have a polished sound. They can be serious, playful and lyrical. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Posted by susanvg at 6:47 PM. Arion - Tra Roma e Napoli. Posted by susanvg at 6:47 PM. Autour de la Flûte - autour de Vivaldi. This is a well balanced ensemble...

Saturday, June 25, 2005. 10:30 A Musicall Banquet. Posted by susanvg at 11:12 AM. Twelve Seasons - Cage, Vivaldi and Piazolla. I came prepared to dislike the John Cage movements, but was pleasantly surprised. Though it was not the high point of the evening for me, it was more melodic than I expected. I truly loved the Vivaldi and Piazolla. Matthias Maute did a masterful job of arranging the music for this grouping. It made me hear the Four Seasons of Vivaldi with new ears. Early Music Montreal: May 2005
http://earlymusicmontreal.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 28, 2005. Arion: Haydn et Mozart. Haydn's Lamentations symphony followed. I find this an odd title for the piece. While there was some feeling of wailing, most of the time the music was upbeat and lively - not my idea of lamentation. However, the music was enjoyable. A concert worth being at. Posted by susanvg at 10:52 PM. Thursday, May 12, 2005. What a person has to do, sometimes, to hear some Early Music! I just came home from the I Musici concert. Early Music Montreal: January 2006
http://earlymusicmontreal.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 15, 2006. Les Voix humaines: Dowland. The concert was short, - too short. I wanted the music to continue to weave its magic. But Susie Napper continued to astonish us with a snack following the concert - delicacies prepared in her kitchen. Many chefs would be envious of her culinary ability. Posted by susanvg at 3:07 PM. Early Music Montreal: October 2005
http://earlymusicmontreal.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 29, 2005. Les Voix humaines - Violation. The lights dimmed and a drone, soon joined by a simple melody, began the concert, transporting us back through the centuries to medieval Spain. Eight viols filled the hall with their rich, mellow sounds. It was lovely to hear such a large ensemble. A lively rendition of Ortiz's Ricercada Secunda changed the mood. The lights got brighter and the rhythms got more complex. I was very impressed with Nan Mackie's playing in the Adaskin Adagio and Alle...
