Wednesday, October 7, 2015. When I taught writing, I gave my students tons of tools to help get their creative juices flowing. While I tried to mix up the resources to keep things fresh, I found that my students always kept going back to my vocabulary shakers. These were simple water bottles collected by students (because recycling is always cool) that were filled with colored rice, pasta, confetti, etc. You can get pretty creative with fillers!
