Matt's Ministry Blog

Friday, January 12, 2018. There's a lot on the horizon as we enter a new semester (please be praying for our students as they come back from the break and new students who may join our community). I look forward to sharing about all of that soon! I also wanted to update you on the results of our Keep FOCUS Growing fundraiser. It was a huge success. And we raised more than we ever have, more than we had imagined even, at nearly $65,000. THANK YOU so much if you participated in that! Something neat about G...

Matt's Ministry Blog: SICM Testimonials!

http://matt.anyfocus.org/2013/06/sicm-testimonails.html

Sunday, June 9, 2013. I wanted to share with you what some of the UNT students have to say about their SICM experience. It's really encouraging to see the impact that trip had on these young people! SICM was a very encouraging week for me. I feel better prepared to talk to people about Jesus and about all of the great things He has done in my life. SICM was a week that represents what I would wish everyday life could look like. There was worship and constant community shared with a family of believer...

Matt's Ministry Blog: March 2015

http://matt.anyfocus.org/2015_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 1, 2015. I hope that everyone (in Texas at least) was safe during the chaos of last week. I checked the traffic with Google maps on Friday afternoon and was surprised to see the whole DFW metroplex covered in red lines and accident symbols. Texans just ain't good at driving in mildly bad conditions. Anyway I hope none of you were caught in any of that! If you're a parent who attended Parent Night this year, thanks again for making it a priority to visit! We really appreciate you being there.

Matt's Ministry Blog: February 2015

http://matt.anyfocus.org/2015_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 15, 2015. Check out what's going on in the Denton FOCUS ministry! This was a such a great experience. We had around 500 students from all of our campuses at Sky Ranch. It's getting to the point where I'm not sure I could name much more than 50% of the people there! It's such a great opportunity to see the larger FOCUS community and develop inter-campus relationships. For that reason, Winter Camp is one of my favorite times of the year. It's essentially our annual family reunion. We are c...

Matt's Ministry Blog: Matt Clark's August Update

http://matt.anyfocus.org/2015/08/august.html

Saturday, August 8, 2015. Matt Clark's August Update. I would like to start out by sharing something less positive than usual, but for the purpose of sharing something considerably more uplifting. College campuses are convergence points of the best of the best AND natural centers for distributing leaders back into the world. Consider the following:. College campuses attract the brightest young minds from all over the world. These young men and women are developing friendships that will likely last to the...

Matt's Ministry Blog: Matt's May Missive

http://matt.anyfocus.org/2015/05/may-missive.html

Wednesday, May 6, 2015. As we close out the semester we are preparing for many of our summer activities as well. Our summer plans include sending a group of almost 100 people to Bellingham, WA for a week-long college leadership conference (SICM), combined summer FOCUS with all of our different campuses, and School of Ministry. You can listen to the recording. If you're interested, which is what I'll be doing :). Just a fair warning: it's nearly 4 hours of audio. This is essentially our end of the year ce...

Danielle's Ministry Updates: Danielle's October Update

http://danielle.anyfocus.org/2016/10/danielles-october-update.html

Sunday, October 2, 2016. One other bit of good news I'd like to share is that one of my student leaders, Hannah Diaz, decided to get baptized last weekend! This is what she wrote to God and read aloud to the community at her baptism:. You were with me all along. You knew of every struggle and every strife. You waited patiently as I turned away from you constantly,. And you held my hand as I wandered through the darkness. I had no idea you were there. My senses were numbed by my sin,. Much love to you!

Monday, February 1, 2016. Entire group that attended Winter Camp 2016. Hello friends and supporters! Rikk Watts teaching his series "Who was Jesus? In addition to hearing Rikk speak, our students had plenty of time to build deeper friendships, play games, worship God, and grow together. We also use the opportunity of having our entire ministry, all 9 campuses, listen to a talk on Dating for Disciples (quite the hot topic in campus ministry! Collin College students and alumni at camp. Art, Race and Pizza.

Danielle's Ministry Updates: July 2016

http://danielle.anyfocus.org/2016_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 1, 2016. The countdown has begun! The other major project our staff is working on this summer, in addition to continuing Summer FOCUS, is building our leader teams for the coming school year. The Denton team is incredibly blessed to have over 50 students that are interested in leadership.now we just have to meet with them all! We are praying that God gives us wisdom and discernment in choosing students that He wants to lead on our campuses next year. Thanks for reading and much love!

Danielle's Ministry Updates: May 2016

http://danielle.anyfocus.org/2016_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 9, 2016. Last night we celebrated our end of the year FOCUS Banquet for the Collin students. This transition from Collin College up to Denton will be sad for a few reasons, but mostly because I'm leaving this amazing group of students that I love so deeply. It has been an honor and a blessing to serve God beside them these past two years. I'm so thankful for the time I've had with them! Collin FOCUS Leader Team 2015-2016. Danielle's Ministry Updates: August 2016

http://danielle.anyfocus.org/2016_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 5, 2016. The FOCUS staff has been diligently preparing for our new school year all summer and it's finally approaching! We just returned from our staff retreat where we spent three days bonding as a team, reading and reflecting on a spiritual book, and making plans for the year. Our Denton team also recently spent a weekend making plans for our specific campuses and getting to know each other better. This year we have a new apprentice (intern) joining our team! Brittany, and Cody. Thank yo...

Danielle's Ministry Updates: January 2017

http://danielle.anyfocus.org/2017_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 6, 2017. It is actually snowing in Denton right now! I wasn't prepared for this cold weather but I am very ready for our students to come back for classes. Unfortunately I'll have to wait another week before I see them, but next weekend we have our annual Winter Camp, which we're so excited about! Not much has happened since my last blog update since the students have been on break, but I do have a few prayer requests for you! I love her sincerely and pray that she is successful in her st...

Danielle's Ministry Updates: November 2016

http://danielle.anyfocus.org/2016_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Almost every weekend in October was pretty full for our ministry, but the biggest event we had was Fall Camp. Since I had been doing ministry at Collin College these past two years, I haven't been to a Fall Camp in quite a long time. It definitely exceeded my expectations, and I'm continuing to get great feedback from our students about the event! Original artwork created for our weekend at camp. Some TWU students at camp. Games are a camp favorite. I was a transfer student and...
