Artist Interview – Matt Brotka | Merchant Bizarre

Artist Interview – Matt Brotka. June 15, 2013. January 28, 2014. What was your first tattoo, and what was your experience like when you got it? I did my first tattoo on myself when I was 13 or 14. I did the classic needle and india ink poke. I made a few dots on my ankle and toe just to see if they would really stay forever. A few showers later, I realized that they weren’t going anywhere. Were you always interested in art? Did you draw, doodle or paint when you were young? If so, what did you create?

This is also on Joe (cobra skull), we did this a number of years ago. I started this awhile ago on John. Again there's more done then in this picture, but no pictures. Ditch skull, fun tattoo. This was a fun one too, would love work on it again. Mr Burke's boxing nun. Posted by Chris Cautillo. And so it begins.
