My adventures as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger. Sunday, January 20, 2008. Photo-op with the young soccer players in Rawfi. As long as we have a functional or close-to-functional soccer ball these kids will spend about 4 hours a day on the sandy streets playing the world's most popular sport. The balls last about 2-3 weeks before they are worn to shreds. And go flat - even the sturdier ones I brought from the U.S. October 2007). PS The photos are in reverse chronological order. My adventures as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger. Saturday, August 19, 2006. I've got my very own field where I'm planting millet, sorghum, beans, and peanuts. It's a fairly small field, but plenty big for me. The manual labor that goes in to tending the fields in maniacal.
