c.t. phone home: Summer in the city
http://phonehometaylor.blogspot.com/2012/08/summer-in-city.html
Monday, August 20, 2012. Summer in the city. But rather than pictures of flaws in my apartment (I mostly can live with them), here is a list of thoroughly domestic perks:. Two sinks in the kitchen, so I can dry dishes without taking up counter space. It occurs to me now that I had two sinks before, but the need for counter space was less urgent, and my drying rack, I believe, did not actually fit in the sink anyway. So far, I am optimistic about the Willy Street neighbors. There are hippies in the ba...

c.t. phone home: Assorted dark mornings
http://phonehometaylor.blogspot.com/2014/09/assorted-dark-mornings.html
Tuesday, September 2, 2014. 1 At my new apartment, to get to work I must first walk down a hill right into Orion's arms. Then I turn right and wait in the glare of passing headlights for a bus that is eerily full for this early. Winter is on its way. There is only one small crack of morning light floating behind me. I am walking away from it. 2 The bus keeps its lights dim, so I can't read. Our faces all blue and quiet. 3 But everywhere, crickets. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Matt is Not Scary.

c.t. phone home: Two Stories About My Grandmother
http://phonehometaylor.blogspot.com/2013/10/two-stories-about-my-grandmother.html
Saturday, October 12, 2013. Two Stories About My Grandmother. Anna's gone. My very first chosen family. She died at 92 surrounded by people bound to her by love alone. Yesterday she ogled a cute phlebotomist's butt. I don't think anyone there would deny that it was time. Jan, her daughter ("just adopted," she told the funeral home over the phone, as if it meant less that they had chosen each other) told these stories while we watched and listened to the steadiness of her breathing and waited for a change.

c.t. phone home: Choices and In Bruges (some spoilers)
http://phonehometaylor.blogspot.com/2012/03/choices-and-in-bruges-some-spoilers.html
Friday, March 16, 2012. Choices and In Bruges (some spoilers). Given that I'm writing this post at a sad point in my year, I feel like I should clarify that this is just a thought I've been chewing on independent of anything else. Also, hi Blogspot, how are you? And that scene,. Kill me every time. If I watch it alone, I bawl. If I watch it with someone, my face twists up so I don't bawl. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Coded Messages to the Owls. c.t. phone home: Mulligatawny Stew - So Goddamn Good
http://phonehometaylor.blogspot.com/2013/10/mulligatawny-stew-so-goddamn-good.html
Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Mulligatawny Stew - So Goddamn Good. Winter is coming, so I'm in soup mode. I want to learn how to make every (warm) soup. This "amazeballs" (my friend Kat said so) oddball is from the Cook's Illustrated "best 30-minute recipes" book. That said, I think it took a bit more than 30 minutes. 6 C low-sodium chicken broth (I used Better Than Boullion). 1/2 C shredded unsweetened coconut. 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I used more like 1.5). Salt and ground black pepper.
