Getting Matt out of the MacDonalds playground was a struggle until I chanced across the perfect tactic “If you don’t put your shoes on right now I’ll give your Happy Meal toy away”. Efficient and effective until one day I tried it and he ran over, picked up the toy, gave it to the first kid he came across, and ran off to play again. It’s sweet and all, but I’d much rather have my leverage back.

The basis for this birth story was written 9 days after Matt’s birth, for the Nov Birth Club on the Babycenter.com.au site, but I’m adding in other recollections as they come to me:. Prostoglandin is inserted (painfully) at 6pm, and I have a pretty rough night with aches and lots of trips to the bathroom. My sister Sarah arrives just after 6am prepared for a long day 🙂.

This gave me a chance to see what life was like after service had finished. The house was, well there was only one word I can think of, huge. We arrived early. He couldn’t remember the alarm number.
