Stephen and Sarah's blog. Stephen and Sarah Catchpole talk about life and travel. Sunday, May 16, 2010. Before Iceland had started causing trouble for everyone's travel plans*, it had featured heavily on ours; we'd booked to go there for the bank holiday and fortunately the ash didn't disrupt us. In fact, we got within a couple of kilometres of the volcano which was an incredible experience - but more on that later. From there we travelled to Geysir, where one of the largest Geysers in the world goes off...

Stephen and Sarah's blog. Stephen and Sarah Catchpole talk about life and travel. Friday, July 24, 2009. The Ashes at Lords - Days 1 and 5. In the meantime, Anthony (a friend from Aus) had retained his membership at the other MCC (in Melbourne). Through this, he was able to get reciprocal rights to Lords, and had a ticket to the first day going spare. I jumped at the chance, and was there in time to watch the first ball - very special. Unfortunately, we only got a session of play, as Freddie Flintoff ran...

Stephen and Sarah's blog: Sicily
http://stephen-and-sarah.blogspot.com/2011/01/sicily.html
Stephen and Sarah's blog. Stephen and Sarah Catchpole talk about life and travel. Monday, January 24, 2011. The first thing we realised was that Sicily was big. In fact, it is just under half the size of Tasmania, and that rather than trying to see everything, we would only be able to see a small fragment of it. The second thing we realised was that our friends Daniel and Bree were going to be there at the same time - an unexpected bonus. Dinner by the sea in Cefalu. The view from Enna. Stromboli from th...

Stephen and Sarah's blog. Stephen and Sarah Catchpole talk about life and travel. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. On the recent Bank Holiday weekend we got up at stupid o'clock and jumped on the motorway and headed south and west to Cornwall to meet Bel, Andrew and William, and Seeph and Michelle. This was all once a bare abandoned quarry - about 10 years ago, in fact. Now there are towering biomes filled with tropical and mediterranean plants. The girls in the gardens. Pirates on the waterfront at Mevagissey.

Stephen and Sarah's blog. Stephen and Sarah Catchpole talk about life and travel. Monday, December 14, 2009. We were looking to go somewhere properly wintry for Christmas Markets this year, and got great flights to Copenhagen in Denmark (surprisingly less than 2 hours flying time away). The market there is in the Tivoli Gardens, the one of the world's oldest amusement parks and apparently part of the inspiration for Disneyland. Santa's little helpers playing in the snow. We finished our evening by headin...

What you can't see is that she is talking on her mobile phone inside the suit. These guys were all roped together - i guess that is one way to stay motivated (spot all the empty bottles on the ground.we were next to one of the water stations. A lot of the guys in costumes were fundraising. Sunday, April 19, 2009. A shot...
