After Wolverine's previous standalone film from 2009 left a sour taste in most people's mouths, I'll admit that I had my doubts that this movie was going to work. However, to my great and unexpected surprise, The Wolverine is actually a good, almost great film. The film opens on a Japanese military base. Right away, I was impressed with how the director, James Mangold.

Danny Elfman, who at one point famously stated would never work with Sam Raimi again. There's no place like home. Incredible color palette, it's particularly impressive how well the transition from black and white to color was handled.
