Depression & Suicide? An invitation to a complex conversation — Jeff Saferite

Depression & Suicide? An invitation to a complex conversation. August 14, 2014. Http:/ tataaat.deviantart.com/art/depression-150543813). I’ve witnessed the destruction of suicide, and I don’t believe anyone wins. My family has a history of suicide as well, and I personally battled depression while away at college. I overcame my issues while others in my family continue to struggle with theirs. I agree with Walsh that life is and can be good and beautiful. But how can that be? Please like and share:.

What can we do? A response to the situation in Iraq — Jeff Saferite

What can we do? A response to the situation in Iraq. August 8, 2014. What does all this mean? It means that when situations like the one in Iraq arise, I become a very mixed bag of emotions. The redneck in me wants to send troops, drop bombs and seek justice! The pacifist in me submits to Scripture by turning to prayer. Most of that prayer is spent asking God why I can’t do more than pray. This is what happened this morning, and here is what came of my time with him:. Love’s greatest testament, acc...

My New Year’s “Realization”. On January 2, 2015. This year for Christmas we got our older two girls bikes! What kids doesn’t want their own bike! The control I exerted! The wind in my hair! The speed at which I moved! The fresh Kansas air circulating through my lungs! It Was. Amazing. I could wait to take them out for a spin! Realizing she was going to need some encouragement and help, I stayed with her. The next 30 minutes were a parenting disaster. It was though I had a window into the future realizing...

On June 15, 2016. Over this last year my wife and I have been in the process of discerning a new call in ministry. The last few weeks I’ve been silent on my blog because we made a major change in where we live. We moved from Atlanta, GA to Milwaukee, WI. Talk about a crazy change! Right away I noticed all sorts of differences about these two places the weather, the landscape, the architecture, the people. These two cities couldn’t be more different. Grace and Peace,. His Majesty. My messiness. Posted by Juliet Liu. Asymp; 12 Comments. Tell me the story again. Please? I remember those warm summer nights, lying next to my aunties. Some of us would be crowded onto a small mattress on the floor, while the rest of us lucky ones got the bed–there wasn’t enough room for three aunties and four nieces in this small room with the sloped, attic ceiling. But I was warm and comfortable, sleepy and secure lying beside them. 8220;It was a warm night, like this one….”. With the soun...

His Majesty. My messiness. The King who weeps with us. Posted by Juliet Liu. Asymp; Leave a comment. The following is a sermon I preached two Sundays ago, on Christ the King Sunday. It is the Sunday when the Church celebrates and anticipates the fullness of Christ’s reign as our King. Christ the King Sunday followed shortly after the U.S. Elections, and I do share my own personal reaction to the election in this sermon – not to. My sentiments are not meant to be prescriptive. Feel free to skip down to th...

His Majesty. My messiness. Hope knows…”. Posted by Juliet Liu. Asymp; 2 Comments. Hope knows that if great trials are avoided, great deeds remain undone and the possibility of growth into greatness of soul is aborted. Suffering, failure, loneliness, sorrow, discouragement, and death will be part of your journey, but the Kingdom of God will conquer all these horrors. No evil can resist grace forever. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Thoughts on “ Hope knows…””. March 16, 2014 at 9:52 pm. Notify me of new...
