Liew Wei Lun, son of Liew Wan Chew (died on the spot), said: "My father had complained many times of the defects and there were several near misses.". The gondola was carrying workers and marble tiles which probably was overloaded,beyond it’s design capacity and the safety features either did not work or was also beyond it’s capacity to restrain. Before any investors were to consider investing in the Iskandar Development Region in Southern Johor (IDR), they are slapped with contribution funds. All the time, whenever there is a claim which the government disputed, the superintendent officer and the project team representing the government, stood on hard ground.
