Sunday, February 5, 2012. Letting the client do all the validations! Back in 2008, I have a strange idea to reduce server side computation needs for a web game. I came out with a concept to let the client compute all the validation in order to minimize the servers load. However the validation result can be easily manipulated if it was only done on client side. It would be result in total chaos! Still, back to the basic, I told myself 'the user cannot be trusted! This could be the solution to the problem!

Friday, January 13, 2012. Run Node on port 80 with non-root user privileges. I had been toying around wtih Node.js these few days. With background of PHP programming, I had experience on setting up a proper LAMP server (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) from scratch, I quickly noticed that running Node on port 80 with superuser privilege (binding to port below port number 1024 requires superuser aka root ) triggers my security concerns. After a quick look into the Node documentation, I found the process object.

Let the stories define me. 今天去了Endah Parade, 本来不打算买东西. 走入了Carrefour 看到了传说中Carrefour出品的Wii Accessories. 为了让大家可以见证传说，二话不说我就拿出了用了高级Carl Zeiss镜头但拍照很烂的Nokia Express Music 5800手机. 脑海中突然出现一把低沉听起来有点邪恶的声音游说叫我败Sport Packs.毕竟28 in 1 这句话的确有点吸引力。本来想下手了败Sport Packs了. 可是在下手前的一刹那，另一把声音清脆善良的声音在紧急关头把我叫醒了. 看看下觉得没必要反正想要的只是Wii Wheel.所以就不败了也逃过了被品质低劣但价格便宜的圈套。虽然暂时摆脱了那把低沉的声音一直脑海中回旋.“败呀败呀，败了玩马车就会很厉害哦！”。走着走着当我回过神来，已经在一家电玩专卖店前了。连那把清脆善良的声音也开始劝我别做无谓的抗拒了。订阅：帖子 (Atom). Let the stories define me. 我看了电影预告、看了他们的宣传手法（用人形遥控直升机在NCY飞行）。觉得应该是是不错的电影，所以就选择相信自己的直觉，去看这套电影。很不错的超能力电影，拍摄手法新鲜, 特别是主角用超能力操控镜头。非凡的故事，并不是一般超能力电影——好人打倒坏人那类超幼稚剧情。虽然非常黑暗，有点血腥但剧情有点深度、发展也合乎逻辑。一般的超能力电影，都有着一贯的剧情，就是一个饱受欺凌的弱者，如何得到超能力，如何学会运用超能力，突然出现一个十怨九仇的坏蛋，然后主角打倒了坏蛋。好人 vs 坏人诸如此类的俗套剧情。但，这套不一样. 很不一样. 未免透露剧情，我还是别细述了，你看了就知道了。个人评分：8/10 绝对值得去看的电影。订阅：帖子评论 (Atom).
