What are our aims? The objectives of the Society include the following:. The provision, preservation and prevention of obstruction to public rights of way over footpaths and other ways used mainly as footpaths;. The preservation or enhancement of the beauty of the countryside for the benefit of the public;. Encouraging the evolution and maintenance of a reasonable network of well-defined footpaths for local and general use. How do we do this? There are a number of long distance footpaths.

New members are warmly welcomed, whether they wish to walk with us or, if for some reason they are not able to join the walks, but would just like to support our aims. The Mid-Cheshire Footpath Society organises a programme of walks in Cheshire. These consist of a fortnightly Sunday walk. And usually two walks each Wednesday. One being 'long' and the other either 'short' or 'medium'. The programme is set every six months. Information about these walks is usually available on this web site. If you are a member of the society and would like to improve your map reading ability or find out how to be an effective walk leader, please consider enrolling on one of our map reading or walk leader courses. If you would like to register for one or both of these course, please send your name and a contact telephone number to training@mcfs.org.uk. Please don't forget to say which course you would like to attend. Courses are run on Wednesdays. although on an infrequent basis dependent upon demand.
