http://renovating1904.blogspot.com/p/kitchen.html
The quest to put the old back in our 109-year-old house (with some modern conveniences) and other fun with salvaged materials and power tools. Ah, the kitchen.Where do I begin? This is/has been the largest reno room, both in scope and sheer disruption. so far (we still have the main floor bathroom to tackle). We ended up rehabing this room in fits and starts because each time we really didn't plan on doing much, which of course turned into doing more. Later referred to as Phase I). Decide to cover the wh...

If you've ever cooked like this! If the only reason you didn't have to eat take-out today was because you own a barbeque and a plug-in electric burner. And if you don't have to order take-out tomorrow because you were able to store your left-overs in the fridge on your back deck. Blind Corner Cabinet Inserts.

The Never-Ending-Reno Project: Another Vintage Find
http://renovating1904.blogspot.com/2014/03/another-vintage-find.html
The quest to put the old back in our 109-year-old house (with some modern conveniences) and other fun with salvaged materials and power tools. Sunday, March 23, 2014. Yesterday we were out for breakfast on Mississippi Ave, and as is often the case this was followed by a romp through the ReBuilding Center. We really do love this place! My only dilemma is that base is silver, and the other fittings are brass - do I spray the base an antique brass, or spray everything a darker bronze? Pratt and Larson Tile.

The Never-Ending-Reno Project: Hallway
http://renovating1904.blogspot.com/p/hallway.html
The quest to put the old back in our 109-year-old house (with some modern conveniences) and other fun with salvaged materials and power tools. We are fortunate to have a layout where very little of the space is devoted to hallways. In fact, on. The main floor its limited to a short L-shaped run off the kitchen to access a myriad of doorways:. The basement, spare room, bathroom, and office. There is also a linen closet tucked in there too. So for a small space it is pretty busy! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Never-Ending-Reno Project: Front Entry

The quest to put the old back in our 109-year-old house (with some modern conveniences) and other fun with salvaged materials and power tools. This is a great space, and one of the convincing factors in our buying the house in the first place. While open to the adjoining spaces on two sides, it still acts like a separate-enough room that you don't feel as though you're walking directly into your living room from the porch. Make a wall-mounted coat rack solution. Create some kind of a shoe storage solution.

The quest to put the old back in our 109-year-old house (with some modern conveniences) and other fun with salvaged materials and power tools. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Blind Corner Cabinet Inserts. So my two largest lower cabinets are both blind corners - as in they could have been 'lazy. Susan's' (sorry all Susans) but have been otherwise shoved into the corner with a regular sized. Opening and thus CANNOT be retro fitted with a fun spinning triple shelf indicative of the beautiful Susan that could be.

The Never-Ending-Reno Project: Living Room
http://renovating1904.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html
The quest to put the old back in our 109-year-old house (with some modern conveniences) and other fun with salvaged materials and power tools. Our living room has always been a bit of a challenge to arrange - being a long and narrow space, with windows on two walls, and an opening and access to the stairwell on the third. This leaves only one long wall for placing any large items, namely the TV, speakers and artwork, not to mention furniture. To the double-hung windows. New' salvaged red oak floor. Subsc...
