My wife and I were on the way to El Penol for a weekend get away when at the base of the turnoff to get to El Penol, she asks me to stop. I thought she wanted a drink or snack but before I knew it, she was opening the back door of the car and offering a lift to a local Campesino (farmer). Seems this is a common custom for the area but I was still a little uncomfortable.
