What our little family is up to. Wednesday, February 13, 2013. One of the things I do and enjoy while staying at home is sewing. I decided to make a little baby blanket for my youngest nephew Jonathan Medina. He will be one year old on the 16th. So this is the finished product and my 4th blanket made ever! Thanks Grandma Nicholas for a lot of the fabrics (I had some and bought some). I decided to do my own binding to it and my own quilting. I washed it and it didn't come apart! Texas is for Lovers.

We had a couple of hamburgers leftover from the day before. To start with, Weston said we always have vegetables, so he got the bag of mixed veggies out. Then he saw the leftover hamburgers, so we split them in half, so each could have a half. Then he thought we could also make macaroni! So below is the result! It was a test and they passed!

What our little family is up to. Saturday, February 16, 2013. Wally surprised us for Valentine's day weekend and flew in town for the 4 day weekend! The kids and him had Friday to Monday off! So, that added to the weekend projects. Noah loves to be involved in projects. And if you wonder where Weston is. he DOES get invited to participate and sometimes he doesn't. One of the weekends Wally came in town from his job in the nuclear power plant in Louisiana, he brought an extra disposable suit that he uses for work, for us to see what he looks like when he works there. His big smile shows how much he enjoyed working there, in a totally different environment. Then he took a picture of himself at work, before he had to put his phone away. On Saturday, Bruce and Christine had a bunch of people over to watch the BYU vs U Texas game. You can see who we were rooting for. Strawberries, dipped in chocolate, piped with white chocolate to look like footballs. Maybe not my best piping work, but hey, I'm not Spenser. Either way they were truly delicious. Easy, and highly recommended.

Livin' la vida Ortiz. Sunday, June 30, 2013. A visit to the past. We visited George Ranch Historical Park this month. I had already planned this activity when I stumbled upon discount tickets. Score! This place was honestly great, one of the top things I've done in Houston so far. I only wish I hadn't waited so long to go. The Ranch also showed cowboys roping cattle and riding. What a fun, educational day we had. A trip to the train museum. Summertime is officially here, which means it's activity time!

The kids and I also filled our days with all sorts of fun activities. The Circus came to town (as it does every year, yes I know). The kids were thrilled and loved every minute of it!
