My ventures. . . putting on a heart of compassion. col. 3. Just another WordPress.com weblog. 8220;a distant memory of eden”. November 16, 2012 by mcurtice. Today was a difficult day. Our program at heartline truly feels to me like an oasis in the middle of chaos. the women we see every week come faithfully, they built friendships. we see success in the fat little babies who graduate at 6 months old. Today the brokenness of this world felt extremely heavy. There is national debt. Tonight i read this and ...

Melissa's HK Musings & then some...
Melissas HK Musings and then some. I guess I like writing about my life and sharing it with you. Sunday, November 16, 2008. Hah, so although my thesis work (that demands the use of the computer) is training me to learn to live in a screen, I have not been forced to fully give myself over yet. Why, just yesterday I found myself lying in the sun reading a (gasp! Is this possible on the internet? Is there actually more and more social interaction happening online? Sometimes the bureaucratic aspects to forma...

Monday, June 6, 2011. Please excuse my blurry phone pic, this was my little set up. Saturday, June 4, 2011. School ended just a lil over a week ago, and to be honest I am ready to go back. Its not that I don't enjoy the thought of having nothing to do for 9 weeks, but the reality of it is that I am bored out of my mind! No More Saying Someday
No More Saying Someday. We are always getting ready to live but never living. -Ralph Waldo Emerson. For Friends and Family. Thursday, July 10, 2014. I wrote this blog at the end of last year, trying to force myself through a transition that I was not ready to make. It's been nearly a year since I left Malawi, and I still dream about it and yearn for it. But now, finally, I feel secure in my happiness once again. Why? Is it where my mother lives, or my father? Home became somewhat an obligation for me as ...

Media 150 in a blog. May 22, 2012. May 10, 2012. New York In Spring. April 26, 2012. Roth was an Icelandic artist born 1930 and died 1998. Solo Szenen (Solo Scenes) 1997-1998. In one of the rooms there were three different shelves that held 128 TVs. Each one plays a part of Roth’s daily life. This ranged from him sleeping to him working on art and even his bathroom routine. I felt that this was a very interesting project because it seems like such a commitment and an invasion of privacy.
