http://givemeyourcoins.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tales Of A Bandit. Saturday, February 28, 2009. May Use Full Lane. For those of you who don't know by now, I've been involved with a distinguishing and elegant British man that goes by the name of Algar. He is not just a finished result of a production line but made in a very traditional environment - hand-made quality. With great skill and incredible patience which makes the frame distinctive and beautiful. His name is Algar and he is English Steel that's made by Mercian. For those who are aware The Cit...

Bobs Bike Shed: August 2013
http://bobsbikeshed.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 11 August 2013. The Lewisham Bicycle loan scheme. Working with the london Cycling campaign. And Lewisham council the Lewisham Bicycle loan. Scheme was born out of a small pilot project in Greenwich. The idea behind the scheme is to offer people the chance to try a bike for a month and see if it fits in with their lifestyle or indeed more promisingly that they change their lifestyle to one that fits a bicycle. The cost? Part of the fleet for lewisham. A growing fleet of bikes. Simple template....

Bobs Bike Shed: March 2013
http://bobsbikeshed.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, 2 March 2013. L'Eroica build is finished. Was a great source of information as well as some reasonably priced NOS parts, I cant recommend him enough and a lovely chap to talk too. The only part not included in the group set was the head set, which is a Tange Levin Campag copy. I couldn't justify some of the secondhand prices that were being asked for an original item. The Tange looks the part and works. Any way here are some photos of the complete bike. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Retrogrouch: Throwback Thursday - On a Friday: Vintage Schwinn Ads
http://bikeretrogrouch.blogspot.com/2015/07/throwback-thursday-on-friday-vintage.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Throwback Thursday - On a Friday: Vintage Schwinn Ads. I've always had sort of a soft spot for Schwinns. I know a lot of Retrogrouch fans do, too. My first really nice bike was a Super Le Tour, and while I would go on to own nicer bikes over the years, that one really helped me catch the bug. One thing unique about Schwinn was that they always had a strong commitment to adult cycling - long before it became popular during the Bike Boom of the early '70s. Here's an old one - 1963, I...

Monday, April 27, 2015. The Brooks Swift saddle is the first that I have owned and I sat on it for the first time with some trepidation! It is amazingly comfortable. I am training for the Etape du Dales currently and I plan to use the Mercian. I took it on a 70 mile loop from Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales on Monday as the sun was shining brightly. It took me up Fleet Moss and the Coal Road without problems (rider fatigue aside! Thanks again, best wishes and happy cycling. Shop Details which may help.

diary of a mandolinquent: Banj-tastic!
http://diaryofamandolinquent.blogspot.com/2011/05/banj-tastic.html
Diary of a mandolinquent. Monday, May 2, 2011. I can't tell you all just how much fun I'm having with my wee Style M tenor banjo! Desperate to get planetary tuners on it though, so that I can stop having to tune it up between each tune I play - janey mack, however in the world did folks back in the 'teens manage to play these and not be driven demented. As their instrument slipped out of tune constantly! Learnt "The Ebb Tide", which I think is now one of my favourite hornpipes ever. And then a couple of ...

Laidbackfellrunner: May 2012
http://laidbackfellrunner.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
You dont need to be mad but it helps. Fellrunners have often been described as weird ,crazy or just downright odd. Wednesday, 23 May 2012. Totley Moor Fell Race. Last night it was very warm. The first really hot day of the year. I decided to call at Totley for the race that goes over the moor. The clubhouse is very new and is a a brilliant facility and I had to pinch myself in the showers after that I was really at a fell race. A shower! Normally its 5 minutes in the beck or the stream. Now even for arde...

You dont need to be mad but it helps. Fellrunners have often been described as weird ,crazy or just downright odd. Friday, 30 March 2012. My good friend Geoff Briggs took this picture of me climbing Ringing Rodger. Its in the first part of the race. The first climb is nearly done and your getting into it. Ive past that point where I think "God Im never gonna finish this". Its time to think about strategy, where I am, who's about, eating something, the next checkpoint, etc , etc , etc. It was very hot on ...
