The far north of Albania had been off-limits for Peace Corps Volunteers until May of this year. So, needless to say, it had been somewhat of an interest and mystery to us PCVs. We had all heard how beautiful, clean, undeveloped, and, of course, how Lord Voldemort. From there we hike up and over a peak in the Albanian Alps to another small town, named Theth.

One could always hear lively conversations and laughter when passing by one of these games. Some of the men would play, while others would sit around watching and participating in whatever they were talking about. The similarities were absolutely uncanny! Yes, I am in Albania. Follow my journey through Albania and the Peace Corps! Sunday, April 8, 2012. The need for a library and a free space for kids to productively spend their time was great. Not only was there a need, but there was a desire by the students to make this project happen. High-school boys did the painting, high-school girls helped out with the cleaning, and all the younger, excited children were great at advertising and talking up the library project. All the kids did their part.

November 14, 2011. Found while walking around Stambul. Ottoman Architecture behind the Hagia Sofia, important people lived here. In the Harem of Topkapi Palace, where sultans came to enjoy their concubines in style.the entire Harem was covered in these beautiful Izink tiles.
