Project Downey Jr.: Only You
http://projectdowneyjr.blogspot.com/2009/09/only-you.html
Sunday, September 20, 2009. By Peter John Gardner. My stance on romantic comedies is the same as my stance on mayonnaise. It serves a purpose in the world, many people are fans, nothing against it, but it's just not my cup of tea. That being said, I went into this movie pretending that Robert Downey Jr's character was really Tony Stark and the events in this movie are what happens before Iron Man. It made the whole experience a little easier to bare. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete p...

Project Downey Jr.: August 2008
http://projectdowneyjr.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2008. By Peter John Gardner. There were three things running through my mind while watching Back To School. A) Rodney Dangerfield's character in this film is nearly the exact same character that he played in Caddyshack. They even use a still from Caddyshack. In the opening montage. B) How the heck did they get Kurt Vonnegut to appear in this film? Was he friends with Rodney Dangerfield or something? C) Is Downey's character supposed to be gay? And as they say, hilarity ensues.

Trying to find meaning and purpose in life by viewing Sylvester Stallone's entire filmography. Thursday, June 7, 2007. Project Stallone: "Rocky II". By Peter John Gardner. An paraphrased excerpt from a conversation I had last week with Kim:. I'm thinking about abandoning Project Stallone.". I don't know. It's starting to bore me, nobody's really giving me any feedback, and I feel like I'm just repeating myself with a lot of these entries.". You can't do that! I, for one, love reading them! Yeah, but.".

Trying to find meaning and purpose in life by viewing Sylvester Stallone's entire filmography. Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Project Stallone: "Over the Top". By Peter John Gardner. Ah, Over the Top. Opened up a whole new can of worms that I could explore.my daddy issues. It's been twelve years since I've spoken to him, and the cards stopped coming several years ago. Over the Top. You never know. At the very least, I could just arm wrestle the fucker if nothing else. Thursday, October 18, 2007. One that pla...

Trying to find meaning and purpose in life by viewing Sylvester Stallone's entire filmography. Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Project Stallone: "Rocky Balboa". By Peter John Gardner. While making the rounds in the press junkets for the release of Rocky Balboa. Side note: The guy that plays Rocky's son is the same guy that plays Peter Petrelli on "Heroes", which I feel is an inspired choice because they both have the same "Is he or isn't he retarded? I hate to admit this publicly, but when I saw this in theate...

Trying to find meaning and purpose in life by viewing Sylvester Stallone's entire filmography. Thursday, December 27, 2007. Or My Mom Will Shoot". Or My Mom Will Shoot. By Peter John Gardner. Do you ever have those awkward moments with your parents where they temporarily forget that you're an adult and treat you like you're ten years old again? Picture a whole, 90 minute movie based around these awkward and annoying moments, and you have the punctuationally challenged "Stop! Lesson learned from the film?

Trying to find meaning and purpose in life by viewing Sylvester Stallone's entire filmography. Thursday, August 30, 2007. Project Stallone: "First Blood". By Peter John Gardner. I can't think of a single person that I know that doesn't support our troops over in Iraq. Even the staunchest opponents of the war still support our troops. How could you not? That's not supporting our troops! Oh, go stick your dick in an electric outlet). Life taught us to support our friends in the military, but it also taught...

Friday, January 25, 2008. Project Stallone: "The Specialist". By Peter John Gardner. The plot synopsis on the back of the Netflix sleeve for The Specialist. I could detail the plot for you, but the Netflix synopsis pretty much sums it up. It's another Stallone movie filled with bad one-liners, plot holes big enough to swan div...

Project Stallone: November 2007
http://projectstallone.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Trying to find meaning and purpose in life by viewing Sylvester Stallone's entire filmography. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Project Stallone: "Tango and Cash". By Peter John Gardner. Stallone's first foray into the buddy cop genre is a doozy. Right from the get go, there's a scene where Stallone's character, Ray Tango, receives some smack talk from a fellow cop. Who does this guy think he is? I think that every one should have two best friends, one of each gender. It helps to balance things out in y...
